This Tuesday the original three starwars movies will be coming out on DVD, will you be getting them or not?

I will defiantly be getting these movies due to well they are the only good starwars movies imo. Also you will get a preview to the Next movie Revenge Of the Sith which will probably suck but I know everyone will still see it nevertheless.

Is there any talk in any star wars story where the humans were like primitive? Like they didn't have spaceships and stuff? Just curious

And what does that giant mouth thing that the Jabba Hutt has in the 3rd movie that he throws people in look like when its not just a big mouth in the ground? Is it just a big worm?

Fett's armor and body were extremely battered by his ordeal in the Sarlacc. When he plunged into the beast, he was kept alive by numerous fibrous suckers that attached themselves to his body. This was part of the Sarlacc's horrible metabolic process; it would keep its prey alive for thousands of years, all the while slowly feeding off it. Fett almost lost his identity in the swirling dementia brought about by the Sarlacc's toxins. His resolve held, and he used his weapons to blast free of the beast.

Naked, wounded, and defenseless on the sands of Tatooine, Fett was rescued by his fellow hunter Dengar, who nursed him back to health. Fett reclaimed his armor and his reputation, returning from the "dead," and again taking on bounties. It wasn't until six years after the Battle of Endor that Han Solo learned his nemesis was still alive. Although Fett still piloted his antiquated Slave I, he updated his arsenal with the ultrasleek Slave II. These were but the first two of his vessels, which would eventually number up to Slave IV.

Anything in EU is canon, the line of Canon goes something like this.

Movies > Books > Comics > Toys > Games

I know I messed something up there, but that's how the priority goes.

Unfortunately, Lucas likes to **** with book authors and totally conflict with their books in the prequels.

Uh....yeah I plan on buying it. Believe it or not, I like the tweaked movies...(the orange blob under Luke's land speeder always annoyed me). I also understand that the DVD's got a few tweak nerfs. Luke screaming as he is falling in ESB is eliminated (thankfully).

Next, I also liked TPM. Provided some back story for 4, 5, and 6. Vader (Anakin) seeing his son die is reminscent of seeing his mother die (and in ROTS...well that might be a spoiler). Also, Attack of the Clones, the whole love issue with Padme is probaly what affects Vader in ESB. Where Boba Fett draws his blaster rifle during the Han Solo and Leia love scene (Chewbacca is going nuts), Vader push's Fett's rifle down. Hence the very things that turn Anakin in Vader, are also the things that bring Vader back.

I have to admit....Lucas didn't do to good of a job of casting Anakin Skywalker for AOTC.

That, or he couldn't "find" the right person and said "ahh..fuck it".

Hayden just sounds like a whiney bitch in most of AOTC....but before I pronounce judgement as Hayden being the Ultimate 2nd Worst Charachter, I'm going to wait for Revenge of the Sith....who knows, maybe thats the role that won over Lucas. I'll wait and see. Then say he suxx0rz

Darth Vader is so bad ass they had to get a black guy with a ridiculously deep voice to do his lines! What was your favorite part of the tweaked movies?

- Greedo shooting first, maybe? (made no sense)
- Han/Jabba Scene, perhaps? (Once again, no sense)

What do you think you're going to like about these "Special-er" editions?

- Hayden Christensen digitally replacing the old Anakin's ghost? (Makes no sense and makes a gigantic plot hole)
- Changes to the Emporer/Vader conversation that makes it sound like Vader doesn't know he stole Amidala's virginity?

I have no problem with cleaning up things. The orange blob under the speeder, the windows in cloud city, that's all a-ok in my book. But when you go ****ing with the movie and COMPLETELY DIGITALLY EDITTING PEOPLE OUT OF MOVIES, that's when you cross the line.

EDIT:

Oh, and what were your favorite parts of the prequels?

- The gigantic plot holes they create
- Maybe the "romance" scenes which incorporated lines including "I don't like sand"
- Perhaps the entirely CGI'd battles?

Sorry for being so blunt, but I feel VERY strongly about this.

oddfish

cleaning up the visual effects and occasionally adding a nifty little cut doesn't hurt the movie. what hurts is when Lucas gets all giddy and starts going CGI crazy, raping movies that were already essentially perfect to begin with.

on that note, what's everyone's favorite episode? Mine's ESB.. I think it's the best in oh-so-many ways.

Actually, in ANH, the part where they put Lukes friend Biggs back in the movies (originaly shot...not cgi). Most are cosmetic stuff. What I don't like is Greedo Shooting First, I agree...no sense. Jabba didn't bother me as it was intended to be there in the first place. In ESB, the snow monster is a good addition (since the puppet for it originally didn't work).

As for the prequels...my expectations were low when I saw them in the first place. GL started at #4 for a reason....the prequels were that reason. Hence, this is like the first few chapters of a novel...really boring that don't seem to go anywhere...but need them to explain some things later on. Thats the way I viewed them and continue to do so.

Next, I don't have a problem with CGI. If Star Wars were done today...everyone would complain about the puppets and wonder why he didn't use CGI. If it helps to tell the story or how it is based...then why not.

What will I like about the "Speacial-er" Editions....DVD quality. I can look past any crap that Lucas may have added or changed.

Finally, Star Wars is not religion to me. I'm there to enjoy the movie...now worry about too much about intricate details.

What Red October just said. I like the movies. I like the fact that they're now in DVD quality with 5.1 surround *pets Boxset* and the changes are interesting. I'm big into the background fiction etc, read many novels and enjoy the whole universe idea, but I personally couldn't give a flying toss about some plotholes that don't ruin my enjoyment of the movies in any way.

You can take the nit-picking really far if one wanted to.

C'mon....a massive ship (death star) with a single porthole that if hit will cause a chain reaction and destroy it?! What if a stray shot or crashing ship hit it? Would it destroy the death star? Furthermore, Why approach the porthole from so far? Get there close, shoot and done.

But hey, its a movie, suspend life, fantasize and enjoy.

Actually, no, the Jabba scene wasn't meant to be in the movie. Not with the Greedo scene, at least.

The Greedo scene was originally put in to replace the Jabba scene. If you put both into the movie, it doesn't make any sense. Why would Jabba send a hired gun to take Han in, when he was waiting for him at the Falcon? Doesn't make any sense. Why is Jabba talking to Han like an old friend, when he JUST sent somebody out to forcefully take him in.

And second of all, the Death Star's hole was an exhaust port. It was shielded, so they had to use a Proton Torpedo. And remember, not just any shot could make it in. Luke had ot use the force to guide it in.

Third of all, I don't have a problem with CGI, either. However, when a battle is 95% CGI, that's when you start to get ridiculous.

Because, it ain't that kind of movie.

Still, it makes no sense for them to travel all the way down that shaft in ANH.

As for Greedo and Jabba...Jabba is a Mobster. How many Godfatheresque movies have their been where a goon is sent out to rough someone up and bring him to "the boss". And the boss acts like he's a good friend?! Quite a few in my estimation. Greedo Shooting first is the only thing in my opinion that doesn't make sense.

Yes I can tell you it makes sense. Just typical low underlying goon talk. "The boss has had it up to here with you, he's going make you sleep with the fishies" Next scene "Boss: Don't disrespect me after everything I do for youse *puts arm around shoulder* if you needed more time, all youse have to do was ask.
