Unfortunatley, my school is behind, and they don't use the #.# scale. They just average your grades out, and my GPA last year was a 94-95, somewhere there. I also don't know how to convert it...

My parents have really low expectations. I passed all my state tests in the top 3% catagory so they know I'm smart but they know school doesn't motivate me so as long as I pass they don't care. It is funny taking state funded tests and getting super high scores on them. All my teachers think I cheat and I even have to sit by myself so they know I don't cheat.

You? A math student?
Let's set up a proportion.
94/100 = x/4
100/25= 4
94/25: 3.76
Congratulations, your (unweighted) GPA is a 3.76.

try this with your TI-83.. Just keep running your fingers along the Sin Cos and Tan over and over and over for as long as you can possibly do it.. then, hit clear.
depending on how long you kept pressing Sin Cos and Tan the calculator will scroll as it deletes all the info from the screen. it just looks cool watching it.

trig, you have to admit that sometimes it is the teacher's inability to make the subject interesting that helps with the motivational problems. Albeit it is the parents obligation to their kids to try to do everything in their power to keep the kid interested in school. i dunno. the only classes i've ever had any motivation to take part in or put effort into are the ones that tap my creative or constructive side. math classes exept for Geometry always bored the shit out of me. as do pretty much all the classes i've ever been involved in. now, i'm in college, and i have to deal with lecture courses.. i never fucking go unless i know we're gonna have a test or a quiz or if they take daily attendance. i just read the chapters, read the notes, and then study for the tests. i'm not saying it's the teacher's fault that i'm not motivated, and i'm not saying it's my parents fault at this point. this is my inability to get off my own ass and sit and listen to someone spout shit straight from a set of notes for an hour and a half. that doesn't flick my switch, sorry.
i dunno. i'm probably going to fuck up in college somewhere along the lines and drop out only to persue my writing and film career via another channel. that's what usually happens to most people in this line of work anyways. whatever.
Triggar

Yeah but the difference between you and Firecracker is, you realise it's your own thing that you can't get into the classes - "that doesn't flick my switch" - and you don't blame your professors for the boring material.
I hate math, and yet I have to take 6 credits worth of it to get my degree. THink I'll ever be cruising along at 39,000 feet thinking, "gee, I'm sure glad I know this f of x bullshit" - never. But I still have to learn it. And just because I got a D in the class doesn't mean it was the professor's fault "for not motivating me".

The essay is probably the easiest thing on the new SAT's.
And a teacher's job isn't necessarily to make the subject interesting. The teacher's job is to teach you values you need to get into college and get a job. As far as I'm concerned, every teacher I've had has completed their job just fine.

The new SATs don't start until March though... so you have to take it after march for it to mean anything as most colleges will only look for the new SAT not the old one.

I dont *totally* blame the teachers. But the fact that some of them all we do is take notes, do homework then have tests shows how shitty they are. Notes don't and have never helped me and all it does it put me to sleep. Also my parents don't bitch to the school about bad grades. Bads grades for me are Fs and if I get F they know its cause I didn't do the homework. Good grades are Ds and Cs and if I get those there happy. Secondly calling someone stupid and lazy isn't excatly nice and just pisses me off. Lazy yes stupid no.
