So in Technology class today, my teacher caught me playing Ghost Recon. We were supposed to be working on a project, one kid is doing some shit on Unix, another is making a Doom level. I still hadn't decided what I was going to do, so when he asked what I was working on, I said it was my project (yea, Im clever). He says for a project I would make a character model for a Tom Clancy game. Not thinking properly, I said "sure...." So now I need to find a 3D-Modelling program (maybe a free trial of something), I need to have a skeleton and basic outline of the model by friday. I have no idea what I'm doing. Plz help.

you sir are screwed, but 10 bucks dare that you use one of the in game models as your project. or, you could go on the interweb and find a already done model and use that.

Just read. There's plenty of time. It won't take you longer than 24 hours continuously studying how to do it and playing around to get the hang of it.
If that fails, do what Everay said, or look around on the net and pass yours off as someone else's.
If that fails, say you're going to model the landscape in it, and use terragen. It's really easy to use.

I used (and liked) Milkshape. You may also want to try Blender.

By no means do i claim to be a master, but my best bit of advice would be to make a time machine, go back to a time before when you said it, eat some poison and do a sicky that day. Seriously, thats some hard shit what you've gotten yourself into but... It might be possible. However, i got work now, so i gotta run, but i'l write up a ton more when i get back (10:30pm GMT).

Tell your teacher you were playing around with the modeling program and realized you probably can't finish it by the Friday deadline, so you started a different project. It's important you actually START a different project for this to work.

you're an idiot. just use bryce 3d and make millions of TINY spheres, like atoms, to form the model.
:D

Yeah, on IRC just type !model Guitar or whatever, and i'll make one.
Okay, i'll admit, i have no clue how to rig skeletons. All i have done is edit the weapons and vehicles in games, never character models, since they are so complex exactly because of said skeleton. I'm afraid either you should change you're project, else you're on your own until Friday. When it actually gets the modelling, then i can give you a hand :)

Ill buy a book on it, read it in a few days, and until then Ill just upload a model from somewhere else, and Ill ask if I can use bits of other models already from a game or something.
