Houston and SF are tied going into tonight, the Cubbies lost again today and are 2 games back. Thier playoff hopes have signifcantly dimmed.
What, for you baseball fans, think will be the end result in three days?
Houston and SF tied and forced into a play off?
Houston Wins it.
SF Wins it.
SF is playng the LA Dodgers in LA for the last three, Houston is playing Colorado in Houston for the last three.

I think houston will pull out in front. I think the last series they played with the cardinals, a few days ago, they kicked their asses. And the cards are arguably the best team in baseball. They should dispatch the rockies easily, and the giants will probably win 1, or 2 against LA at most. Cubs have pretty much no chance.
Quite an amazing turn around. At the all-star break everyone thought they were pretty much done. This is just another example of why baseball is the best sport :p .

I hope so, its 3-2 Houston as I write this.
I REALLY want to see a Bosox-Astros WS. That way Bagwell can forever cement the mistake of the Red Sox trading him. :P

Haha that would be awesome. It would be nice to see manny hit another homer off clemens at minute-made :D.
The LA/SF game is on ESPN in about 20 minutes, make sure you catch it.

Let's go TIGERS!
Because every time the Marlins win the world series, they get rid of all their players.

Speaking of Baseball
BlueJays beat the Yankees 7-0 last night, and our pitcher (Halladay) smoked the Yankees.
Tis a glorious day.

Cubs OUT
SF BLEW a 9th inning 3-0 lead to lose it 3-7 to LA
Currently in Houston the score is 8-2 top of the 8th against Colorado.
Here's the breakdown, IF Houston wins out, and takes the wild card, they will play Atlanta. If they lose either tonight, or tomorrow, and SF wins tomorrow, then they will play a one game play off IN SF, with the winner playing Atlanta in the first round.
So its still very much in the air, but Houston is sitting in the drivers seat atm, and I am rooting for my Boys to take tonight and tomorrow.
Then they gotta shake the Atlanta monkey off thier backs and actually WIN a freaking playoff series...

Hey, I was cheering and rooting for them for what its worth, and will again until if and when they play Houston :P
BTW Update, Houston won handily, 8-3 over Colorado, Biggio scored 2 homers, one a lead off, and again in the third, and a sac fly.. Biggio and Bagwell are the PRIME reasons I follow baseball, I worship the ground they walk on.. figurativly of course.

Berkman, and Beltran ain't too shabby either. By the way, how does it look on beltran for you guys. Do the astros plan on signing him, or letting him walk? I know he's got boras for an agent, and that could be trouble =/.

They want to keep him, I would like to think they can pull it off, but if he plays the "show me the money" BS, he's gone. Houston doesn't have a huge payroll to fund players prostituting thier talent Cough Cough NYY..Cough Cough.. A-ROD...

Gah! Giants let that one get away. Props on LA for coming back. Can't walk in a run, ever!
I don't feel confident about the Rockies over the Astros. Colorado never done anything to help us down the stretch in their history, but only marred us from playoff contentions. Starting 6 rookies in a meaningful game in this series? Disgraceful. Go Jamey Wright! Due for a win.

Nah, ugly was the bullpen, but it worked, The Rocket starts tomorrow, and that hopefully will seal the deal. No one on the Astros wants to fly to SF to play a one game play off, and then have to fly BACK to face Atlanta should they beat the Giants.
Screw that, Go Rocket! Killer B's are still hanging TOUGH!

Well its Sunday Sports fans, the final day of regular season play.
Housont is up 5-0 against the Rockies, each run scored sinks the nails that much deeper in the coffin for the Giants postseason hopes.
No the Rocket didn't start, stomache flu.
