View Full Version : My dog goes crazy and attacks windows.

I think my dog Alex is going crazy. He is about 9 years old which is pretty old for big dogs. By big I mean he's a 120 pound Blue Tick Coon Hound mixed with a Rot. He is the biggest baby I've ever known. All he does is lay around... that's it. He is the kind of dog that would lick you to death if he even got up to meet you. So it's really odd that last Wednesday a friend and I came home from work and saw bloody paw prints on the tile floor in the living room.

Alex came walking out wagging his tail like normal after I called his name. I checked his paws, no blood. So my first thought was, "whose blood is on the floor?"

I look over to the large window we have in the living room and saw this...

(NOTE!! Large amount of blood. If Hamma or other mod feel these links unfit please remove them. Click at your own risk.)

After looking over Alex some more I noticed his two front teeth where broken. And there was some bleeding from his gums.

This is my friend that I work with being retarded. He doesnt have a right index finger. Thats a whole other story. So I took a picture of him wearing a glove to help me clean up.

After taking him to the Vet the next day she was shocked at the pictures I showed her. She said dogs mouths bleed a lot and heal really fast too. So that must have been where the blood came from.

Well that brings us to yesterday. He apparently pulled the screen out of this window to get out.

After being out I guess he wanted back in

This window has a mond of gravel outside that my dad is using for some building project. So it was the easiest to get to from the outside.

no, he's missing his index finger. he just put his middle finger through the first finger hole. look again.

and, yeah, Ivan, that's some scary shit. i'd keep an eye on your dog in the future if I were you. he may show some signs of what's going on in his brain.

My Springer Spaniel (NOT Bailey) is nearly 15 now, and thats old, even though he's not a big dog. He's gona bit nutty, and in the past few weekas his rear leg muscles has just been raped, he can hardly cimb up the stairs and falls down them on the wya up and shit. It's sad, cause im only 16, and to watch something [someone?] that i have known and has been there my entire life be born, live and now slowly die all while im not even an adult yet - it's sad.

These stories are so sad. I'm thankful that I have a good 10 years to go before the girls start to get loopy loopier! Hopefully by then, there'd be crazy advances in veterinary medicine, so we can get them kitty lobotomies or whatever they'd need!

Lol, why is that "scary shit", is it cuz of the blood? Your dog prolly just had a very good reason(at least he though it was) to get through that barrier, so he started chewing at it, and bashing it, and ramming it with his head...

My dog was 15... he liked eating couches (seriously... we had to buy new furnature thrice because of him) but we loved him... he really fucked up his teeth and gums tho by chewing on anything and everything, doctors couldn't figure out why.

One time my cat Alley came home with a swollen lip. we couldnt figure out why, but she was clumsy and mischevious, so she definately did something stupid. after her routine visit from the vet, we concluded that she tried to eat a bee hive, and got stung on the lip.

Once my dad's cat licked a tuna can and cut part of it's tounge off. It had a lisp afterwards.

I thought this was a joke thread at first, and your Dog loved Linux or something...

ABout the actual story. that's just weird, maybe someone was outside (as said before)..

:ugh:

Have the dog checked for epilipsy/mental problems.(sp?)
That could be the cause. that, or: Maybe he got scared . or saw something outside ...

It possible that someone or something was outside. The thing is knowing him for the past 9 years he still would not have done that, but I've noticed he hasn't eaten his dog food since the first window attack. He has eaten some table scraps though. I think the hard dog food hurt his teeth right now. Vet said his broken teeth should be ok; there was nothing she could do for them.

My puppy (8 years old now) has fits 2-3 times a month. Including one of his leg muscles having been raped. Ah well, we'll comfort each other. :(

Just realized I forgot to inclued a pic of Alex.

http://www.tridot.net/images/alex/alex.jpg

It's hard to tell how big he is in that pic sorry, but I can tell you he is 120 pounds of pure dog. I could probably ride him. Though he never does anything but lay around. Damn lazy hounds...
