A couple of my friends just got into an argument and now refuse to speak to each other. I don't think i can mend it but I would like to get your oppinions on whe is right and who is wrong, if it can be defined that simply. Person A is my best friend who I have known since 1st grade. Person B is a hippy libral douche vegitarian. Anyway A is a homophobe. B hates homophobes. Ever since A told B that he is a homophobe B has refused to talk to A. They were great friends before this happened.
Discuss.

In my school the lines between straight and gay people are blurred...beyond imitating being gay as a joke, I've witnessed people pantsing each other, flashing in the locker rooms, etc. It's not fucking right.
If you don't do that, you're a homophobe, because to not be one, you have to be able to grab someone's ass and still "be straight."

"Homophobe" is a term used against anyone who feels that experimenting is unnecessary and/or wrong because they're sure that they are straight.

You're fat.
I'm tired of being called a homophobe because I refuse to slap another man's rear end. A paradoxical situation, as those who do are not gay, but straight.

It is my life goal to call everyone I can fat, even if they are blatantly skinny.
With any luck cases of anorexia/bulimia will not rise.

And homophobia is not the unwillingness to touch another man's rectum, it's the unwillingness to talk to, be around, interact, not hate, or accept homosexuals

There is a lot of evidence supporting the fact that people who are deathly afraid of gay people are gay people themselves. The logic is that a gay person would "spot" them or hit on them, and that they would like it, because it is something they've thought of before.
Also, I think it's out of your hands. The homophobe isn't going to change, and Friend B isn't going to start forging friendships with ignorant people. My advice is to steer clear, because for you, it's a no-win situation.

I am a retrosexual, but I suppose homophobe could be applied to me even though I have a gay brother who I love just as much as my pain in the ass brother.

If only this meaning was accepted and not the adulterated meaning that is in practice in society.
I'm not afraid of them, I just don't approve of the lifestyle. I'll talk with them, etc. I can be friends with them. However, I'm pissed at society's "if you don't grab ass, then you're a homophobe" corollary.

It must be where you live, because any kind of statute like that here would be grounds for a rumble.

I have never understood the need for social castration. I do believe that is a decent example of why it isn't such a healthy thing.

Well...cancel that. There are parties, meetings with our sister schools, etc. and people regularily have girlfriends- and it's the same people who are "studs" that perform such behavior.
So I guess there really isn't a connection.

Grabing another mans ass has nothing to do with sexuality. Anyone who thinks that it does is just being stupid. Its just another form of fooling around. There is absolutly nothing wrong with homosexuality. Not talking to someone because of thier beliefs is a very closed minded thing to do. Try informing them of that.
While im not gay that 16bit mario avatar you have turns me on...

Well behavior that is now commonly assumed to be gay, is usually a dominance thing. The Alpha male demeans the other males.
Thankfully humans are far enough beyond this that we can beat up the idiot who thinks demeaning a Scorpius is a good idea.

Well there is that solution.
But grabbing someone's ass or just messing around faking gay isnt really that wrong, its basically just to get a rise (not penis) out of someone, or just have a good time. I would reserve the word/term homophobe for someone who has an unbased and deep rooted fear in a homosexual. And someone pointed out that sometimes, they are either not straight, or in fact gay themselve's.

I love how I got a detention for being "intolerant" when I told the leader of the GSA at my school when I had to work overtime in photography that "his need to tell me about his gayness vastly outweighed my need to hear about it" which is "SHUT THE FUCK UP I DON'T CARE" in a more polite manner. This kid would talk about nothing but being GAY.
