Get the xbox... in the end its wroth more.

Better games, better graphics, quicker load times.... The Gamecube. IMHO, just can't keep up with it...

If you are looking for a more younger audience oriented library, go Gamecube. While there are titles for older gamers, the GameCube's primarary library is aimed at the 14 and under crowd.

If you wish a larger array of Teen to Mature Titles, go with the X-Box.

Graphics wise, the two are fairly similar with the X getting a small over all advatage.

The X wins for storage (Hard drive, no memory cards!)
X wins for online play, GCN cant.
X wins for load times.. faster then the GCN

In the end though, buy the system that has the games, or is geared to offer the games you prefer to play.

May I suggest neither?
Personally, I suggest PS2, but if you have no interest in that, save up for a new computer.

I've had all the systems at one time until I sold the GC and PS2 because personally I like Xbox the best, Xbox live is the best online service for any of the consoles, theres Halo2, and it has a built in harddrive and you can rip songs on it to play in some games. I would SERIOUSLY GO FOR XBOX, you WILL NOT REGRET IT.

X-Box for sure. The only reason I got a GameCube was for the Zelda pack.

I'd vote for both if there were the option to do so. I <3 mah cube. If you have to pick one though... x-box is winnar.

X-box. I regret getting a game cube. X-box has plenty of good games and gamecube only has a good game released every 6 months.

90% agree, but if PS2 is none of your interest, XBox, wins hands down

humm its a hard choice i already got a ps2 and have gta:sa on pre order

the things iv been thinking about is with the xbox most games will sooner or
later come out for pc which i already got a good one of were as nintendo almost never releases thier games to pc ala metroid prime and the up coming prime 2
thrers a deal at the local best buy that with my birthday money i would only be paying about $40 for the gc metroid prime metroid prime 2 demo and the zelda game

...I must be the only GameCube proponent.

Seriously, why get an XBox? Are you seriously going to get an XBox for like... 3 or 4 good, exclusive games? A lot of the games that are "good" on XBox are already out on other systems. Sure, the graphics won't be as top notch (unless it was optimized for a different system, like Burnout 3).

So what if the games are geared towards children? Does it really make a difference? Do you feel "cool" and "mature" because you're playing games rated Mature? What difference does it make? What exactly is the point of video games? That's right, to have fun. If you find a game that's "kiddie" (which is a ridiculous term) that's fun, then who cares? You're having fun, while people whoare trying to be "mature" may just be forcing themselves through it just to feel cool.

There are just so many more good, exclusive GameCube games than XBox games.

Don't buy the Xbox yet.

On October 25th, M$ is releasing the holiday Xbox bundle.

It's standard price, 149.99, but it comes with free copies of Top Spin and NCAA 2005.

If you don't like those games, buy it at EB/Gamespot and just tell them to take those games out of the box and trade it in to get money off the Xbox. Better yet, use them to reserve Halo 2. If you don't reserve Halo 2, you won't be owning it on release day.

GameCube is a great 2nd system, but I wouldn't take it just by itself.

Halo/2 is/about to be probably the only great game(s) on Xbox. But it still does have Live and no memory cards.
