Both in the 90nm variety, the AMD64 3000+ or 3500+? My case cooling will be air. 2x120mm fans on an Antec Super LANboy (though im putting some better fans on if they suck, sorry.. "dont suck" ;) ) and a HSF (havent decided exactly what yet). Also i'll be running it on an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum with 1gb of GeIL Ultra-X in dual channel.

I'm buying it either today or tommorrow, and if i can get as much performance out of the 3000+ as the 3500+ i'll be VERY happy and so will my bank account :D .

For those of you who havent seen the o/c potential of a 3000+ check this article (http://anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2242) .

I guess it depends on if you're going to overclock it at all. If you are, stick with the 3000+. Mobo I recommend of the Skt 939 flava is the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-130-468&depa=1)

I'd recommend the new DFI LanParty UT, if you can find it.. It holds the worlds fastest FSB on air. I ha dteh NEo Platinum for 754's and it honestly was one of the worst motherboards I have ever used.

Go with the 3000+ for OCing potential, and to save a few bucks you can spend on some more ram or a viodeo card or something fun.

After some advice, im thinking i will wait for the DFI LanPartyUT Nforce3 250GB. That along with the 3000+ should be uber for both price and performance :D (overclocked this 3000+ can outdo an FX-53 on only air cooling :D ).

yea i'm thinking of getting the 3000+ or waiting till they get the 90nm process tweaked.

Well waiting is what you'll have to do since DFI decided not to make a 939 model, for now. They may release something now that the 90nm's are out, or they may just wait for NF4 launch. I've had DFI and MSI boards, both are strong. The OC and performance difference would be fairly negligable between the two. So if your ready to buy now, I'd get a 3000+ and the K8N. If you can get your OC as high as AT's then you'll be screaming.

For the HSF, I'd get a XP120.

Well i decided to just go for the MSI K8N Neo2 Plat. coz i CBA waiting for the DFI (if it ever comes out). Ordering the CPU, Mobo, Case, PSU and some Artic Silver5 in the next couple of days once the cheque i paid in goes through into my account :) .
