It came to my attention that most people who frequent the lounge, and or IRC are for the most part e-literate. e-literate means you convey your literacy on to the internet. In other words, no internet shorthand. I notice that a lot of new people dont stay too long, as they dont fit in, for this exact reason. I know I have done the same with the opposite type of crowd. As of now we only have a few people who have managed to hold it out in this environment where most posters are self-grammar nazis. For people like firecracker, I applaud you.

So, to the polls with you now.

I find 1337 to be the internet equivocation of "Gangsta". So yeah, I'm e-literate.

It's not so much 1337 speak I am talking about here, everyone knows thats a joke. I am talking about internet shorthand. For clarity.

I cant stand internet shorthand, aside from things like lol, rofl, stfu, qtf, DHITB, ect.

Yes, acronyms arent really part of internet shorthand because they arent completely phonetic. It also takes some intelligence to recognize, or to decipher their meaning within a given context. Plus they do acutually take a significantly smaller amount of time to write as opposed to internet shorthand, in which some words have the exact same amound of characters, but spelled phonetically. IE: "kewl".

i motion for QFT, DHITB, and 0FN to be exempt from the AOL-ese acronym dialect
