Well, people of PSU, I'm leaving for Ohio later this evening and won't be back at school until monday morning next week.
I have mixed feelings about going home whenever I do go home because of my relationship with my parents and with all the poeple around where I live. Everyone misses me and they're going to throw a big party for me like they always do when I come home, but still. I always feel a little bit withdrawn.
I dunno. I'm gonna be with a bunch of my friends for the week, and I'll get to spend some time with my dad who's essentially one of my best friends in the world. Aside from that there'll be movies and video games and backyard football and going back to my high-school to talk to the only two teachers I gave a shit about when I was there. :D
I'll try to get as many pics as I can and post 'em for you guys. It's gonna be a pretty crazy week. I'll probably jump on PSU a few times while I'm in ohio... it's not like there's no computers up there or anything. At any rate, I'll try to keep you guys posted and I'll have my camera ready. Fall in Ohio is always very pretty. Anyways, you all and I'll catch you guys later. ;)
P.S. I know I havn't been posting nearly as much as I usually do as of late, and that's due to everything being so hectic with school and what not. I've been trying to set up meetings with some important people including a publisher so I've just been real busy. This trip is exactly what I need right now and afterwards I'll be back on track with everything and I'll be able to return and mosey about the forums wreaking havoc as per usual. Anyways, later guys. Much  for PSU.

should make for a fun weekend.
Bah Ohio is too flat! Come to Western PA for fall. Some of the most hickish towns are the most beautiful in the fall. Like East Brady. (Side note: That's were Jim Kelly of the Buffalo Bills is from. They have a huge sign with him on it as you enter the town hehe )

Jim Kelly was the shining hope for Buffalo for so many years, I feel so bad for those hopeless Bills (and their fans!)

well, i got in last night around 11:30 and my dad drove me home from Cleveland Hopkins.
the flight wasn't bad. night flights are pretty cool once you get close to the city and the plane starts its approach. :D I really kinda miss Ohio fall weather.
So anyways, the drive home was really interesting...
Dad: So, you enjoying school?
Me: Yeah. I'm havin' a blast. Parties have been really good this semester.
Dad: How're your grades?
Me: They're good. Could be better, but they're good until the next mid-term. But, I'm studying my ass off, so.
Dad: Do what you have to do. You know what you're capable of.
Me: I know.
Dad: You're smart, Dan. You know you have no business doing poorly in any of your classes.
Me: Dad, why are you acting like mom. I know all this. If you know I'm so smart why do you feel like you have to drill this stuff into my head. Don't you think I'd be smart enough to register all this shit the first time.
Dad: Yes, but dammit Danny, your last semester wasn't exactly up to par and you know you can do better than that.
Me: I know, Dad. JESUS. If I'd have known this was what I was giong to get the moment I got back home then I'd have stayed in fucking Florida.
Dad: Fine! You want me to turn the car around and drive you back? I'll do it. If that's what you want! If you can't stand being around us so much anymore!
Me: No, that's not what I want! I JUST WANT TO SPEND A WEEK WITH YOU WHERE I WON'T HAVE TO ALWAYS BE THINKING ABOUT HOW MUCH I CAN'T STAND YOU AND REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS LIKE WHEN WE WERE BEST FRIENDS!
At this point we both had tears in our eyes and my dad was going almost 100 miles an hour. He started to slow down but some fucking State Trooper wanted to be a dick so he pulled us over.
He came to my side of the car, which I thought was weird and he even opened the door. Didn't knock, just pulled my door open and looked in. Here's this little exchange:
Trooper: What seems to be the problem here, son?
--I said nothing for a minute, i was confused as fuck--
Me: Umm.
Trooper: (to my dad) Sir, do you have any idea how fast you were going?
Dad: Yeah, I noticed that I had gotten close to 100 a ways back there and started to slow down.
Trooper: You know the speed limit is 65, right?
Dad: Look, I...
Trooper: (to me) Son, I can't help but noticed that you seem like the two of you have been having problems. Is there something you want to tell me?
Me: (I was really pissed at this point, probably moreso at myself than anyone else, since I pretty much purcolated this little incident) Yeah, actually, there is! We got into an argument because we see each other maybe three times a year and it makes it very hard, especially when we used to be really close when I was in high school. Now I go to school a thousand miles away and it's hard for the two of us to deal with the distance. And, since you MUST know, I've been asked to come home on numerous occasions but didn't because I can't stand how hard it makes it to see my dad and then have to leave all over again, hence the reason why we get mad at each other because we can't deal with it any other way. But, whatever. Give my dad a fucking ticket because hey! YOU GOT HIM! GOOD JOB! YOU'RE GONNA MAKE QUOTA! ALL THE GUYS BACK AT "HQ" WILL GIVE YOU HIGH FIVES! (at this point I was really flipping out and I noticed my dad staring at me like I had a walrus on my head)
Trooper: Whoah! Okay! Calm down! There's absolutely no need for this outburst. I see there's a problem and I'm not giving anyone a ticket. A warning. (to my dad) That's what you're getting, sir.
Dad: I'm sorry about the whole speeding thing, I just...
Trooper: Sir, just, trust me, I understand. My son's in the Air Force and he's never home. I miss him so much sometimes that I don't even think about anything else. I was just thinking about my son when you flew by over the century line. I know how you feel... (It looked like the fucking cop was about to lose it) I think maybe we fight a bit too much when he's home, too. It's kind of our way to deal with it. It's really stupid, but.
Dad: Yeah... It is stupid.
-- at this point i was starting to tear up again --
Trooper: Look, you guys get out of here and keep it at 65, aright? I'm not gonna tell you to try to get along or anything like that, because, as you put it(looking at me) it's not really any of my business. But, just look at it this way: What if you'd gotten in an accident at 100 miles an hour and the last moments you'd spent on earth with each other you were angry and figthing. Just think about that. You two have a good night.
And then he walked back to his car, got in, and waited for us to pull back onto the highway.
We got off at the Niles exit and pulled into a Burger King and just sat in the car.
Dad: I'm sorry.
Me: You've got nothing to be sorry for, I'm the idiot. I shouldn't have flipped out.
Dad: I shouldn't bring things up that I know will just get us into a god damned argument.
Me: Are we going to argue about whose fucking fault it is?
Dad: No, god dammit! But..
-- we just looked at each other and started laughing, we were thinking the same thing --
Dad: We'll just blame your mother.
Me: Yeah. All her fault.
-- big hug, tears and shit. i'm sorry, no i'm sorry.. yada yada yada --
The rest of the way home and when we finally got home we just talked about all sorts of shit. We talked about sports and some school (the good stuff about school) and about hunting season and my dad's Biscayne(car, old, awesome) and about work and all that. We talked about my future a bit, and a little about his. I've been up all night and it's 11:15 and i'm still up. He's making breakfast now and my mom's making coffee. The bacon smells great. I hate being home, but, at the same time, I love it so much. What a night...
EDIT: i just realized he didn't even ask my dad for his license or registration.. damn.

Oddifsh, it's really great that you have a relationship, and a good one, with your father. I see lots of my friends hating their parents, pissing them off, and getting booted out of the house. It's sad :(.

i wish i had a better realationship with my parents.
I hate to say it but it's like nothing is good enough for them, i get all A's for the quarter so you'd think she would at least be a bit more lax about school. But I forgot to to a 4(in a normal quarter you rak up well over 300, and in physics homework is only %10 of the grade) point problem one night, so it gave her a red flag this afternoon by email, and she came in and yelled at me for being on the computer to much.
I realy hope it's menapause(sp?) talking.
