I had tears in my eyes when he started choking her.
BTW, Dont get all self righteous on me. I think the commercial is funny, not domestic abuse.

Those are the most blatently in-your-face commercials I've ever seen, not to mention circular logic.

Why are they misrepresented? My dad beat the shit out of my mom, they look about right to me!
And yeah, I can see the humor in the commercials - did they actually air? They're do a great job at getting the message across.

Yeah. Defenitely used the wrong vocab there.
I mean to say that they're so blatent that it's honestly hard to take seriously. Pouring hot coffee on a waitress? Jeeze, who okayed that one?

The sad thing is, there are men who do that to their wives.
I think that's what the ad was trying to say - you wouldn't do it to a waitress, why would you do it to your wife?

Holy shit... O_ I don't think the commercials ever aired, if it did it was after 8p.m (there's a rule here in Canada... adult content can't be aired before eight I think, I'd have to check to see if I'm correct). The sheer brutality of the commercial kinda gave me chills... I hate those type of persons (women beaters) as much if not more then I hate rapists, no living being deserves such treatment.
Good find Squeeky.

Well it's just that, people don't wanna see it so they are neutral about it. With a commercial like this, they get their point around and quickly thus making the viewer develop a sort of resentement towards that sort of behavior.
Excuse my spelling, never been too much of a writer.

Yes, because this is infinitly more hardcore than putting a bullet between someones eyes, as has been illustrated hundreds, if not thousands of times in popular american media.

Those commercials are not close to serious enough for the topic, honestly, the way it happens it's humourous.

I giggle when he throws the stapler at her at the end.
Those would work in the US if our representatives in the media werent so anal about launguage. I mean, come on. In this day and age we can saftly assume there are no more innocent children above the age of five. Better to get the point across earlier in life rather than later.

Maybe I have have just gotten used to it, but that seems true. (I know you were being sarcastic.) It is much more painful physically and emotionally for one parent to beat another over a period of time. And btw, like 30% of domestic abuses are caused by women, it's not just the men anymore.

Yea, i just dont see humor in that.

I don't see any humor in it at all. But I do see it as an effective tool to shock people into waking the fuck up.

After watching this a second time, i REALLY dont see any humor. if anything its kind of shocking in a "wow, wtf is wrong with these people" way.

To be honest, when I was watching the first video I thought it was a joke until the end of the commercial. So yeah, I think the problem is most people watching these will take them the wrong way at first. I stopped smirking once I found out it was serious and shit.
Althougth once I found out what the commercial was about I was all like "WTF!?" watching the second video.

I didn't find those funny at all, and am frankly disturbed if anyone else thought they were funny.

if you can air violent shows like are normal done you should definitely be able to air this. This is actually for a good purpose for once, not just mindless violence. I Frankly Was affected by it... and the blantently obvious abuse would help for other to understand... some of the denser minds...
