View Full Version : What are you playing?

Got this thread idea from Gamespy's monthly article. List the 5 games you are currently playing and why.

1. Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War (PC) - Used to be a fan of the table top game, all of that goodness for less money inside a PC and in real time. This is the first game out of Relic that ive played, and if this game is any indication this wont be the last.

2. Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge (Xbox) - Came with my Xbox Live starter kit, fun arcade flying shooter, with very cool art design and the Multiplayer is really good.

3. The Sims 2 (PC) - I was addicted to the original until I lost the some odd 5 expansion disks, the best of all the best expansions. Minus pets, celebrities, and magic and the cashcow expansions. All reincarnated into a good looking 3d Engine all on one DVD.

4. Call of Duty: United Offensive (PC) - Single Player campaign just as gripping as the original, Deployable Machineguns, Bazookas, Panzerfauts, Flamethrowers, Panzer and T-34 tanks. Multiplayer far exceeds the original Call of Duty especially Base Assault and Domination.

5. Halo (PC) - Revisiting the original before Halo 2 hits the Xbox and consumes us all. Multiplayer is fairly compelling and the single player campaign is still fun especially AOTC.

1. Counter Strike: Source (PC) - I suck at it, but I love it... and its not as full of dumbasses as the old one.

2. Halo (XBox, XBC) - A great shooter, etc etc.... what more to say... it's Halo

3. Planetside (PC) - ...

4. StarCraft (PC) - Possibly the single greatest RTS of all time, I love the protoss in Brood War.

I'm in console mode for a while, since there havn't been many titles out for teh PC that I've been into lately, except for one.

1. Tiger Woods PGA 2005 (PS2. This game is like crack)

2. Halo (xbox) Linking up using the resnet in our dorm is fucking sweet..

3. Warhammer 40k (PC) I love it.

4. Timesplitters 2 (PS2) Again, over the resnet.. fun. as. fuck. Can't wait for TS3, though.
5. X-Men Legends (PS2) This game is quickly becoming my new crack. It may usurp Tiger.

and that's it for now until i get Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal -- Jak 3 -- Halo 2.. and HL2, whenever it feels like fucking hitting store shelves..

Why? Because I'm discovering new things about it every day. I want to see what happens next, when I do this. I like it.

1. Call of Duty: United Offensive
2. Locomotion
You've probably never heard of it, but this is the successor to Transport Tycoon, and another game by Chris Sawyer.
3. Counter Strike: Condition Zero
Only occasionally. I don't have source, so...

That's really it... I play StarWars Galaxies every six months so my character doesn't get purged, and sometimes Planetside...

1. Call of Duty (on a CAL team IE I have to practice a lot)
2. Call of Duty UO- fun for pubbing and screwing around in multiplayer, but not that great for competition besides capture the flag. Also the best single player FPS I have ever played.
3. City of Heroes- on occasion, although I think I'm going to cancel my account for a little bit. Only time I really have fun is when I'm playing with Vicchio and dedenimuls.
4. Maybe FFXI- I forgot to cancel my account, and I'm going to reinstall it and see if I can get back into it.
5. Going to get the new GTA, and probably HL2 (yes I will succumb to the hype)

1. Baldurs Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal <-awesome game.

Awesome, I just started playing it again 2 days ago. I've installed that game about 6 times, this time I plan on actually beating it. Part of the problem before was that I knew nothing of D&D rules. Now I know quite a bit more, but mostly 3rd and 3.5 edition rules. It will take some time for me to get aquainted to the 2nd edition rules.

Also:

2. Dawn of War - Orks are great
3. Neverwinter Nights - Great to play online with a bunch of friends, best multiplayer D&D game ever. Also, with the PRC mod, there are literally like 50 prestige classes.
4. CS:S - Love the graphics, and I'm glad it doesn't run choppy on my PC.
5. Star Wars: Battlefront - Fun to own bots in SP, MP lags hard though.

2. (PC) Battlefield Vietnam (FUN! FUN! FUN! When it's not lagging)

3. (XBOX) Burnout 3 ( The best racing game ever!)

That's pretty much it for now. I want to get CS:S soon.

Same story here, except with shadows of amn. I played through most of it with a ton of different character types and party types, but I never beat it until a month ago, when I solo'ed it with a monk (monks fucking pwn everything) then I finally decide to get TOB a couple days ago. I went into it thinking "well my monks level 25, Im sure thats enough of a head start to solo the expansion too" man I was so wrong.

I had to go back into my old monk-soloed game of shadows, pick up all the good shit that I would need for my party in TOB, then import him into the game and "summon" my party members, very fun, though I have to say monks still pwn everything, its been ages since a spell besides imprisonment has actually hit him ^_^, and as usual, aerie has not failed to die dozens of times, all of them horrible.

Im currently at the desert outpost with the order of the other monks, have finished watchers keep (most of which was spectacular) killed prince demogorgon though I was somewhat dissapointed with the fight that took 20 seconds of non-paused time (kai the monk, minsc with psions blade, keldorn with carsomyr, all greater whirlwinding, with kelbans warding whip removing the ugly fucks spell protections, in fact, the mariliths it summoned lasted longer than it did :p. The last guardian fight before that level was the most fun I've had in an RPG in a LONG time)

I've also come to the conclusion that dragons need to automaticlly be immune to quivering palm, so far the score is quivering palm 4 dragons 0

also have DOW and I surprised myself by getting sick of multiplayer after only a couple days, I guess it was all the rushing fucktards...no tactics there, just "omg I owned you newb" over and over again.

Max Payne 2 - Fucking awesome gun battles. Havnt played a 3rd person in a while so why the hell not.

1) Far Cry- This game rocks my world. There's nothing like hiding in jungle flora while an enemy patrol passes by and then leaping out and shredding them with your P90.

2) Unreal Tournament: 2004- More world rocking. Nothing beats hauling around in a leviathan on "Red Planet" and slaughtering all those who stand in your way with the BFC (Big Freakin' Cannon)

3) Doom 3- OMFG. Anyone who plays this game and does not admit to shrieking like a little girl is a damn dirty liar.

4) The Political Machine- Nice value game. Anywhere where I can run for president and slander my opponents into submission is ok by me.

5) Battlefield: Vietnam- There's nothing like having CCR's "Fortunate Son" playing while I use my F-4 Phantom to blow NVA helos' out of the sky and then napalm their infantry positions.

Swwwwweeeeeeeeet.

2. World of Warcraft Beta (PC) - pwnage
3. GTA:VC (PC) - fun to beat the hell outa people, and a great stress reliever.
4. FarCry (PC) - had to format last time i played this, so i plan on finishing it now.
