So im 20 grief away from weapons lock from flipping galaxies over when i was bored. I'm rounding a corner in ogma, forseral and bam, theres a prowler. I back up behind the wall. AND OMG I TELEPORTED!!!11 You heard me teleported to my original spot in front of the vehicle and I get.. WTF GRIEF? uh oh weapons for you mister. So I tested it out, (on another character of course) and it seems like whenever someone runs, stomps, squishes, crunches, or disgorges me from my human form with their vehicle, i get grief.
I'm REALLY glad this bug wasnt implemented on purpose, or SOE would have proved just how really dumb and unreasonable they can be. Well not that they have already, with their, dont do anything, sit back, and horde the money. Very stupid indeed

You did damage to the vehicle, so you get Grief.

My damage to them, 1 out of 200
Their damage to me, usually death, grief, or half my life taken away

Well if it makes you feel any better, I don't think vehicles should take damage from infantry at all. For the most part anyway.

Now tell me why.
What the FUCK were they thinking when
they decided to do this?
Nice job fuckheads, nice job

They broke mowing too, you used to be able to hit a soldier and survive it.

I think I should be dead, according to the law physics"

That too. Physics in PS were never very realistic, but they could have improved them instead of nerfed them.

Yeah
And you know why the develoeprs dont hold conventions, or at least conventions with a glass mirror or bodyguards?
Because they know someone is going to give them a black eye,
punch them in the face, knee them, kick them, shoot them, or there too lazy.
And who would want to put a bunch of angsty teenagers that sit around all day playing a game were you shoot things all the time, in one room.

It was implemented so people can't jump in front of vehicles to get the driver grief. Thanks for thinking.

Too bad it doesn't work that way.

What about when you're encased in powered armor?
Also, as a gameplay mechanic mowing sucked, and gameplay is more important than trying to accurately represent the laws of physics involving objects made out of materials we aren't familiar with and going speeds we don't actually have an accurate measure of.

ok so your pissed at SOE when because currently they have it so that you get grief if a vehicle hits you? and yet you are sitting around flipping galaxies over because you are "bored". that makes a whole lot of sense...
You know what would make sense? Vehicles should not be able to be damaged by light rounds or running people over. The fact that I once finished off a prowler with a pistol is ridiculous. Of course, it will take SOE another two years before (after getting the idea from a fan) they decide to make the game make sense. They are an unreliable company because they have Sony's agenda at heart, not the fans. They are concerned with money; they proved this by making the Ancient Tech and BFR tech expansions that we had to pay for instead of patches. I can understand they need money, and perhaps they are so money hungry because they were suppose to be making 648000 a month instead of 129500, but that's no excuse. I wish Sierra of valve of Bethesda would buy Planetside from Sony, then it would actually be what it was proposed to be.

It really is crappy getting grief when people run in front of you. Just last night I had an AMS run in front of my BFR and sure enough I was dealt 58 or so grief points. Not only is the running into people bad with BFRs, if someone gets close enough to overlap shields with you and you fire straight ahead (while side by side), you can wrack up as much as 80+ grief in under 2 seconds.

Only AV rounds damage vehicles, makes some sense.
And the reason that hitting people damages vehicles is probably a physics handover. If vehicle stops because it hit something then damage vehicle.
The rest of your post Kam was drivel I'm afriad.
And yeah, I agree it sucks that you get grief for getting hit by a vehicle, but it's not earth shattering.
It may be drivel, but it's all true.

Like someone said,
"When i get run over by a two ton titanium spike tank,

Well... people used to get tanks and not bother having a gunner... they would just run people over. Hell, you could get more kills running someone over than you could with the cannon. That, and people certed AMS just because it was an unstoppable mowing machine. Rarely did you see anyone get an AMS to actually DEPLOY it. No, they just used it as a huge hammer on wheels. It was exceedingly lame, and although the way the devs nerfed it is exceedingly lame, it improved the game a great deal.
As for grief, the devs have reported that they will probably remove the grief you get from someone else running into you. Should be fixed in one of the next few patches.
