holy fucking shit. this is the most incredible thing Ive ever seen in sports. I can t believe they pulled it off.
I just wanna give credit to all the sox fans out there, putting up with shitty teams, managers, and plays. From Aaron Boone's homerun in last year's ALCS to Bill Buckler's heartbreaking error in the the 1986 world series, they manage to be the most loyal and determined fanbase out there. My dad has been waiting for this his entire life, my grandfather died waiting for this to happen. This whole thing is just mindblowing for me.

I am NOT a yankees or sox fan. I dont care either way who won or lost but IMO I acctualy think something dirty went down. It just seems odd how they suddenly started to own everyone.

Yea yea. It is very possible that it was all fair. But it also just as possible that someone was paid. I mean, people are scum these days. If Ashley Simpson can do it why cant the Sox?

I don't think you can fake a home run very easily.

youre a fuckin asshole you know that? The 2004 Red Sox are an example, nay, definition of what a team is supposed to be.
I think without all those ALCS losses to the Yankees the sox couldnt have done it. Playing the greatest franchise in sports history at the end of every postseason is not easy, in fact, if you can do to the yankees what the sox did, you're unstoppable. Once they came back from the 3-0 ALCS I knew that there was no stopping them.

Calm down Jet.
I know that you feel very strongly about your team, but you should really think about what you're about to post before you submit. We all need to improve in what we post.
Think:
Is what I'm posting relevant to the topic?
Is what I'm posting insulting?
Is what I'm posting sarcastic? If so, should I show that somehow?
Is what I'm posting appropriate?

BLOODY HELL!! /me feels better :p
Congrads to the Red Sox, they out played the Cardinals all the way. Their pitchers got in a groove and raised hell.
Was nice to make it back to the World Series .. and pleased to see it go to a good team.

Any team at any time can get on a hot streak Peace.
If you look at the last couple of World Series champions, it has always been a Wildcard team. Why? Simple. They have had to play the best baseball for 2 whole months chasing their division leaders. They learn to gel as a team during that time. They experience the joys of winning, and the pains of losing together. Each and every win means something to a Wildcard team. It puts them closer and closer to either a division win or a playoff berth.
Teams like the Cardinals, who at one point were 20 games ahead of the nearest contender in the NL Central this year (Cubs), could be put on cruise control the last month of the season. Putting their pitchers in line for the playoff chase and getting the batting order in line are their worries. Not trying to get that next win.
No conspiracy theory here. The Red Sox flat out embarassed the Yankees. And then they took one of the more prolific 3,4 and 5 hitters the Cardinals had and shut them down, completely. That was the heart of the Cardinals offence this year. Roland and Pujols(sp) and Walker all pretty much forgot to show up for these 4 games. Their pitching was suspect and their bullpen was ok during the regular season.
Next time you come in to flame on a good job, get your facts straight.

Crack :D
No worries jet. I am just saying its a possiblity. I am acctualy more towards what Sent said, it makes alot of sence. But in the back of my mind I dont trust many people, especialy people who make a couple million a year and want more so they market crap to us for insane prices.

It's all great but I still hate to see those players get payed 10 million for whacking a ball with a stick... yes it requires talent but most things do, I don't get paid for winning a god damn Warhammer 40k game why should they get 10 million instead of a normal salary?

I AM JUST SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW....i have been waiting my entire life to see this and my father has been waiting years beyond me for this and finally it happens. we now no longer hold the number 3 spot for the longest without a world series win. we are now on the bottom of the list....oh the joy i am feeling right now. all the red sox fans last night on my campus went insane just running the down the road and celebrating. it was an amazing night last night.

NINETEEN - EIGHTE ... OH shit ... damn !!!
There goes that chant in NY.
I discovered the true reason why NY lost ... I didn't have my new son wearing enough Yankee garb during the playoffs, lol.
On a serious note, although I'm a Yankee fan its nice to see you guys win. I remember the feeling the first time we won in '96. NYC was a madhouse. It was great. Me and a buddy (also Yankee fan) were talking about going to Boston for a couple of years if they ever got into the Series just to soak in the atmosphere. We decided not to go this year cause, frankly, I was worried about the reception we would have gotten.
Congrats. I now truly feel like a Sox fan when I say - "Wait till next year".
