Go to the forums and read all the ****** closed beta testers who are saying it's too soon.

Fucking losers are just upset they can't play for free anymore. I guess they are unaware of the fact that all MMO games are released to the public with a shit load of bugs.

I want to castrate all of them and shit in thier eye sockets.

WoW sucks, give it up. Its all hype and no bite.

Did you play beta vicco? Why does it suck? Grafics are not a reason to say a game sucks or is great, gameplay is where its at. So why does WoW suck?

All I know, is that I have played the game, and it easly has enough "bite" to keep me, and thousands of other gamers occupied for time unseen.

Okay look, I have not sat down and played WoW, had the oppurtunity through the beta, but skipped on it. My Bro-in-law to be was in, and he confirmed what my impressions were, a "pretty solid game with nothing new to the MMORPG Genre" He really enjoyed the beta, but what he liked, I didn't.

The PvP system.. uhm, give me DAoC ANYDAY sans the stealthers...

The mission system just doesn't do it for me. Anyone can get the item/target you need if they have the same mission and you have to wait for the spawn? Uhg. I know they were tweaking that...

One of my co-workers and his wife, WoW beta, were in LOVE with the game. They got into the EQII beta, and decided to try it. They both canceled their WoW pre-orders and are going with EQII.

WoW sounds like a solid game, great for new players to the genre of MMORPG's, but everything I have seen or read says "been there done that".

pvp system. dont completly understand your statement. The pvp system is solid in my tastes, if a horde goes in your alliance lands, you can gank him, but he cant gank you unless you flag your pvp on.

There is also the arena for matches. They devs are also working their asses off on battlegrounds, which will include things like siege tanks.

The mission system just doesn't do it for me. Anyone can get the item/target you need if they have the same mission and you have to wait for the spawn? Uhg. I know they were tweaking that...

Thats not true, certain items, yes, but for the "collect 10 of x" you each person still needs 10 of that item.

Oh. and eq2, however, is exactly as you say it is, you kill an enemy, it auto tallys your bone chip for everyone in the group. Next point.

One of my co-workers and his wife, WoW beta, were in LOVE with the game. They got into the EQII beta, and decided to try it. They both canceled their WoW pre-orders and are going with EQII.

Im not going to tell people they suck for trying a game I dont like, I just cannot stand people bashing something they dont have even the slightest clue about. If they want to play EQ2, fine, I hope they will be happy, EQ2 seems too thrown together, complex, and frustrating, to me. Its impossible to find anything there. 85% of /yell or /ooc chat is "where is xxxxxx"

WoW sounds like a solid game, great for new players to the genre of MMORPG's, but everything I have seen or read says "been there done that"

.. and EQ2 is THE REVOLUTIONARY GAME OF THE CENTURY!111. WoW isnt about reinventing the MMORPG genre. Its about perfecting it. Which, IMO, they did VERY well. All EQ2 did was stick a claymation (granted, good) graphics engine on EQ1, and mix it with CoH and FFXI. Heroic combos are nice, but they yoinked that from FFXI. Granted, EQ2 is Much, MUCH better the EQ1, but it feels like it should have been just that. Released a few years ago, minus the graphics engine. Feels more like what an xpack should be to EQ1. However, they dont do free content updates, so of course it would be natural to make an entire new game.

/edit/ btw, I have played the shit out of stress test, and won a contest like two weeks ago for EQ2, so I have played both enough to make these conclusions.

/edit2/ fixed a few typos.

Look, you like WoW, I am unimpressed. I think it lacks staying power and appeal to someone like myself. I think its suffering, like SWG, and EQII may as well, have to wiat ten days or so to find out, overhype.

SWG was one of the absolutely WORST games I have ever played. Period. I hated it.

The PvP system, sorry but why go somewhere you cannot attack but CAN get ganked? I have an extreme dislike for a system set up where I have to wait till hit. Thats just not "cool" IMHO.

I spent 2 WEEKS finishing the Paw of Oppalla in Ever Quest. I spent hours upon hours in Guk to get the final ring, only to have some dweem unit pop in just before spanw time, kill the mob and say "sweet got it, sorry guy have to fill my orders" then leave.

So my dislike of any system where something I need can be gotten by others, just doesn't sit well with me.

EQII may not be all that revolutionary you are correct. But they have done things no other game has done, and for that, I will give them the shot.

Im still not understanding your logic. Everything you say you dislike is 3 times as worse in EQ2. EQ2 doesnt even HAVE pvp, yet you say you dont like WoW because you dont like the idea of keeping lvl 1's from being attacked by a lvl 50 that desides to mess with some newbs?

There are reasons to go in other's lands. Next patch pvp rewards and the honor system are going in. Not to mention the quests that take you through the lands.

I diddnt get that high in WoW, but as far as im aware, the only quests that would take you 2 weeks to finish would be the life quests, that I dont beleive are in yet, and blizzard accually knows shit about respawn timers, no way they would put a popluar quest mob on a long ass timer. The newbie zones almost insta-respawn after the data they collected from the ST. The longest time I have seen on a quest mob was 2 minutes.

Maybe im just ignorent, but your points are zooming past my head.

I will agree with you on one thing though, SWG, has, does, and always will, suck.

I dislike PvP that doesn't have a goal. And while yes I have read PvP has a "goal" in WoW I prefer a set fight system ya know? I dislike open PvP, I prefer PvP to be area limited, with reasons to fight. DAoC did this very well.. except for the stealthers.

How about we chalk this one down to, personal taste differences?

I can live with no PvP.

EQII has instanced areas, which is cool. That will keep 500 people from being in the same spot. CoH does this to an extent with whole zones, and I like it.

EQII also has stopped twinking, Kill Stealing and Kiting. I like.

I think WoW has some great fun potential but I don't see it having lasting potential. thats my belief.

AO was my fav MMO, and its nearly dead, sadly.

You are correct, as of right this second WoW pvp has no goal. Well, except for conquering areas, but I dunno if that counts. The "goals" are going in next patch.

The PvP system, of course i was refering to the PvP server. Also, you cannot just randomly attack someone of your faction under any curcumstance, of course there is dualing as well.

Yeah, the instances are cool, the only instances that WoW has are the dungons. I will give EQII the twinking, kill stealing and kiting, and the PLing. I like that.

Personal tastes, I can live with that. I have nothing against people playing EQ2. Nothing. I dont think its worth my money, and you dont thing WoW is worth your money, I dont look at you any differently. The reason I posted, was because you said, and I quote:

WoW sucks, give it up. Its all hype and no bite.

Which is ENTIRELY untrue, and has zero facts to back it up.

My Bro-in-law to be was in, and he confirmed what my impressions were, a "pretty solid game with nothing new to the MMORPG Genre" Which basically describes EQII. Its EQ with a new graphics engine.
