Will there be any kind of boats, hovercrafts, or subs in PS? If so there should be a aircraft carrier that the Galaxy, Mosquito, Reaver, etc. to take off from. And landing craft that hold tanks and APCs.
Any one have any ideas?

no boats or submarines at the moment, the vanu tanks look kinda like hovercrafts..but i dont think they could float over water... there MIGHT be boats and such in an expansion or a retention feature developed later on in the game or something

In the planetside magazine article it listed this as one of the vaaanewwww's advantages, their hovercraft type tanks can go over water, I don't know about the edge of continents water, but lakes and ponds. Just experiment with them, go as fast as you can and go out to sea, see how far you can make it.

Yeah, they can float over ANY water, but only for a short period of time.

Submarine battles would be cool, except every time I'm in BF1942, it seems that the submarine is too slow to do anything useful.

Vanu hover things can float over lakes and rivers just not oceans. Plus mines can't get them

LOL saint you would be telling the vanu to go over the water as far as they can while you shoot them since you are NC

Vanu MAX would be perfect for pirate outfits. Sneak up in a rowboat, use jumpjets to board, yell a pirate cliche (ARG!), slaughter the crew (probably using a Comet, depending on what they would let on a ship), hack the ship. The hardest part would be getting there undetected, so you're under minimum effective rande of the turrets of a large dreadnaught-style cruiser.

itd suck to be a vanu driver hovering over water and get one of those grenades chucked at u that cuts the power to all electronic stuff.

To clarify here.
Vanu hover vehicles can only hover over water for a short period of time before they sink - just like other vehicles.
It would be far too un-balanced if an entire vanu armored column could just roll over a river and attack a facility while the other team is powerless to do the same to them, or defend it well.

Hey i like the idea of Vanu having to be able to hover over rivers to get to the other side But i really hope they do put boats and a carrier so that u can launch an air raid like in WW2

The word is that naval combat is being focused on at the moment, but it hint's that there definately will be some water stuff coming along soon... probably in the expansion pack, or a downloadable update.

yes falcon but hwo usefull will they actully be?
naval combat is a negative at the moment. They stated that they wanted to focus on ground combat first. Perhaps in a later expansion or something =)
