I needed a new PS2 since my brother stole mine and so I went to Best Buy and they only had that new small one just I got that. How ever the thing is really weird, there is no off switch like in the normal PS2 I can only get it to go to stand by mode on this new one so how do I turn it off?

If you really need to turn it off, just unplug it.

If you hold the button in the top corner, the green one, for two to three seconds it shuts off your ps2 and just pressing it again turns it back on

I don't have one but I googled a search for "ps2 off switch"

I just find it a bit funny...

you can work one of the most advanced machines ever made by humanity (computer)... but when it comes to turning a smaller one of your mind boggled.

Note: Thanks for telling us how to turn it off... I've spent a few days trying to figure it out... :ugh:

I bet that thing overheats faster...so save often as "mr.freeze" is around the corner.

New manufacturing process helped make the parts smaller, cheaper and cooler.

but my ps2 is bigger so it has more space to air out. It has something I call "Proximity"

Bitter irony...trade in my PS2 the month before Ace Combat 5, GTA: SA...sigh. Have to wait the year+ for the PC/Xbox version :(

so if the light is red on the PS2 it's off? Man I'm so use to the old one where once it was red you flipped the switch in the back.
