Shell Shock is the way to describe my initial reaction from this  . Way too long of a story so I'll summarize by points.

1) Husband Cheats on wife one time only.
2) Husband doesn't tell wife for fear of her leaving (fling didn't mean anything to him).
3) Wife eventually finds out due to slip up.
4) Wife is pissed from hell to high heaven and other time's...forgiving...(wierd? just wait).
5) Wife does not leave Husband. But treats him pretty badly.
6) Husband take's it because he feels like an asshole, jerk, etc. Just thankful thier still together.
7) A year and a half of rotten treatment by wife. Husband has had enough.
8) Huge blow out arguments occur.
9) Husband finally says enough. Leave me or stop with the ill-treatment.
10) Wife apologizes and says she'll stop.
11) Wife is not happy.
12) Wife says she has a confension, Husband says "it can't be any worse than what I did".
13) Wife confesses to having a one time fling while married. (Well, it wasn't worse)
14) Wife feels horrible about it and was worried husband would leave her.
15) They decide to stay together.
16) Husband is still somewhat in state of shock and needs to confide.

My reaction "..."
My reaction today "HFS!!! WTF!!!"

Question: Was I supposed to offer advice, if so, what? Say something, then what? or do what I did and just "STFU"?

What advice could you offer? The advice they need is to SEE A MARRIAGE COUNSELOR.

The best advice is not to give any.

Have a professional help them. Seriously. Its the best thing you can do for them.

Seems rather hypocritical on the wife's part.

Yeah, counciling.

Im sure when she found out about the husband was hard ... they probably both felt like shit and took it out on eachother :( probably part of the reason she was so ruff on her husband .. Cuz she was treating him like shit and he wasent being an asshole therefor she felt more like shit that se cheated.
