Moderator Nominations

As discussed in the round table I am creating this nomination thread. Here you can nominate who you think would be best as a moderator of PSU. The moderator will be tasked with moderation (der) of the Lounge and perhaps other areas. They will be responsible for upholding the PSU Forum Rules (http://planetside-universe.com/forums/faq.php?faq=forum_rules#faq_general_forum_rules) and, working with other moderators via the moderator forum on courses of action for specific users and forums.

Anyways, lets keep this thread to JUST nominations if possible. Please do not get off topic or have discussions on who you think would be the best, just post following the template below. If you wish to discuss other peoples nominations please use either the rountable thread or a new thread.

His giving us control of the boards, to find someone who is a fair, unbiased individual who can devote the necessary time to the boards (which is alot more then you guys may realize). And you guys are taking that opportunity and throwing out ludacris nominations. If you nominate someone, respect Hamma's wishes and tell us why. "He's a funny poster" is not a good reason. :love:

Thanks for the thinly veiled jab there Squeeky, but I gamed alongside a good number of the community in EVE and I think that they got to know me pretty well through the experience.

As for the rest of Squeeky said, I have to agree ( :eek: ). We need to get serious and nominate people who actually have the time and the maturity to handle the position, and explain to Hamma why we think the person should be nominated. Now that I've made a post agreeing with Squeeky, I need to go shoot myself, thanks. :p

Edit- I'm nominating Sentrosi. He appears to post regularly here on the forums, he is mature and a good judge of a situation. His posts are pretty much always informative or helpful in some way, so I think he has what it takes to be a good moderator. Only a very few times have I seen him become openly hostile towards someone else, and it was usually because they deserved it.

I'll reaffirm the nomination for Sentrosi. From my experience, Sent has everything that I would expect from a mod: maturity, good humor, common sense, and the respect from everyone on the board. And from what I've seen, the same goes for Gohan.

I think there are others who might share some of those qualities, but not quite to the level of either of those two. Both are veterans (Sent especially) and from what I've seen, they've always looked to bring out the best here at PSU.

Once again, my endorsements go to Sentrosi and Gohan. Additionally, whatever happened to Ouro. I know he moderated for a while, but I don't see him anymore.

I may not be an expert policital debater (polical forum scares the bejeezus outta me) but I still like debating. Seeing how I like video games, it seems natural for me to debate video games. For the longest time, I was a top leader of a clan that played planetside, I was a respected individual, and eventually rised to a posistion that involved infunce on major desisions, and moderating board status. Like I said, currently, the forums are kind of dead, but at one point, they were flowing with life, and not once did anyone have an issue with my leadership.

Sorry for kinda giving my life story (is this even legal? :p)

He doesn't post very much in the lounge, but he's a staple of Political Debate. You might think this makes him inherently crazy, well, he is, but not like everyone else. In an environment where posts get reported constantly and personal attacks are commonplace (well, not anymore :evil: ), he always makes really good, constructive posts. If he disagrees with someone, he'll back it up with data. He's also funny as hell, and has a wife who I think we all can agree is wicked cute.

Here is what I think we should do to select a moderator. We need to keep this from being a popularity contest.

1. In a new thread, everyone who is nominated should state why they should be voted in.

2. In a second thread, Hamma and the admin team posts three scenarios, and the candidates reply with what they would do.

3. In a third thread, people shoot questions at candidates and they answer back, and also comment on each other's ideas/problems.

4. Voting: Polls open for a week. Voting must be by actual post, not poll thread, because those are easy to tamper with- just create multiple accounts and shift the polls. Nobody who hasn't been here for at least 2 weeks can't vote.
