OK, so I was supposed to do this survey for my technology class, so I figured, how better than to actually USE technology to do it? Plus, I needed to get a wide range of people, and PSU is pretty diverse when it comes to opinions ;)

If you could answer it, it would be really helpful :).

1. Do you own a cell phone?
2. Do you feel you really need one? Why or why not?
3. Do you own or use a computer?
4. If yes, could you do without one? Why or why not?
5. Do you play video games? Why?
6. If so, how many hours a week?
7. What technology do you depend on, other than a cell phone and a computer? Why do you depend on these items?

I realize number 5 is a little redundant here on these boards, but bare with me :).

Once again, I appreciate any serious responses.

1. Do you own a cell phone?
Yes. But its deactivated currently.

2. Do you feel you really need one? Why or why not?
No. People can leave me messages at home and I can get back to them. I got sick of getting calls while I was in the middle of something, and paying for the service. If someone wants to talk to me, they call the answering machine and I'll call them back when I'm not busy.

3. Do you own or use a computer?
Duh. :p

4. If yes, could you do without one? Why or why not?
Nope. I'm a tech nerd. I need my computer or I'd cry.

5. Do you play video games? Why?
PlanetSide, Rome:Total War, and a few other games occasionally. I enjoy gaming because it helps me relax, and generally is an enjoyable thing to do when I have nothing else to do.

6. If so, how many hours a week?
Eh, prolly at least 25 hours a week.

7. What technology do you depend on, other than a cell phone and a computer? Why do you depend on these items?
Television. Source of entertainment and news. Printer/Scanner, means of entering/withdrawing data from my computer.

If you could answer it, it would be really helpful :).

1. Do you own a cell phone?
Yes.
2. Do you feel you really need one? Why or why not?
Need? No, but it's more practical and convenient than a land line.
3. Do you own or use a computer?
Yes.
4. If yes, could you do without one? Why or why not?
If I had to, yes. Given a choice it would not be one I would make however. It performs far too well as both a tool and a form of entertainment.
5. Do you play video games? Why?
Yes, for a lot of reasons. They make a good temporary distraction from reality much like a good book. It's a good thing to do with friends. They're portable and for the price you pay you often times get more hours of enjoyment out of a game than you do from say going to the movies or going out to drink at the bars (definately beats going out to the bars in hours of enjoyment to money spent ratio).
6. If so, how many hours a week?
Depends on the week. Some weeks I might put in as much as 40-50 hours into gaming. Other weeks (most weeks lately it seems like) I might only get in a couple of hours when I have the time to spare.
7. What technology do you depend on, other than a cell phone and a computer? Why do you depend on these items?
Well, this is a really broad question. My car, the heating registers in my apt, electricity, running water, well the list goes on. I assume you mean technology as in electronics or something related to computers when you speak of technology. In that case though there really isn't much more. No iPod or PDA or any of that here.

I realize number 5 is a little redundant here on these boards, but bare with me :).

Once again, I appreciate any serious responses.

There ya go, hope it helps.
