View Full Version : 3dmarks03 Out Now
Futuremarks (http://www.madonion.com)
Get it now!
Short Story here.
Woke up this morning, logged on, and went to download 3dmarks03, and do you know what happened.
Every website (30+) that hosted the 171mb file was either maxed out from users, bandwidth, or just because they want there website to still work during the next couple of weeks.
I finally found one website after five minutes of searching, but its through the Edonkey (http://www.edonkey2000.com) file sharing program.
If anyone know of a good solid link could you please tell me. Thankyou.

I am gettting it from a german site that is giving me around 100 kb/s trnasfer rate. If you are having trouble getting it try one of the german sites.
The one I am using: http://www.badct.de/dlredir.php3?id=1174&type=file

I just ran 3D mark 2003, and holy shit that program works you system.
I had a frame rate under 10 fps for most of the tests and often under 5 fps.
With 3dmark 2001, I was getting scores around 8000, with 2003 I recieved just under 1400.

Ive heard that its not a good Idea to get untill your graphics driver supports it, if not you get really crappy performance:(
so I heard
actually i think the only graphics card taht can supports DirectX 9 is the radeon 9700(i think), other then that its the geforce FX, which isnt out yet.
That sort of annoys me cause i really loved watching nature in 3Dmarks2001se, but since i have a geforce 4 ti4600, i cant watch it, i believe thats the case anyway, ill see tonight when i finally download it.
Other then that, i think the min requirements for 3dmarks03 is a p3 1gig, or a pcmarks score of 2500. I read people that have tryed it a less, and they got around 87.
So i would then belive that a scorce over 1000 is pretty damn good for a home pc.
Ok finally took it.
3Dmarks03 score: 1652
PC specs:
Operating System Microsoft Windows 2000
CPU Intel Pentium 4 2403 MHz
Memory 512 MB
Graphics Chipset NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600 128mb
im kind of happy, gonna aim for above 2000.

All the Radeon 9xxx cards support directx9 things...
It's the way ATI's naming works, 7xxx for DX7 features, 8xxx for dx8... etc
Why wait to install dx9? I have no problems whit it
