Which server is the best?

I was wondering which server is the best cos i only play on marcov (i chose it cos it had the highest ping, i though it had more people) and i have only tried the other servers briefly. By saying "best" i mean the one with the biggest fights, biggest rushes, most people.

Emerald has a little more people, but there isn't much difference in battles between markov and emerald. Emerald is US-east coast and Markov is US-west coast. Werner is the european server, though it has the least people but you will have your best ping there.

I heard that werner has most people, and was made to have more ping than the others. anyway- werner forever. forget markov and emerald go to werner

Werner is not overly packed, but it's ok.

Most people are gonna say the server they play on is the best, just go with wich one has the less ping.

markov has less of a 5th empire, people don't just pick up and leave when they are getting beat.

but your best bet is to go were the ping is least

I know werner has the least ping, but like in most games, i think that higher ping means more people. maybe i will send a email to the planetside suport and ask them where the most people play. thanks for your help guys. if they answer my email i will post it here.

Playing on the server with the most players doe's not mean you'll see bigger battles... Say if you live in Europe and play on Markov? You'll be playing during the early hours of the majority of the Markov players (due to it being a US west coast server).

EDIT: The reason Werner probably has the lowest ping for you is because, I'm just guessing, you live in Europe?

They removed the population counters (which went from actual numbers, to little coloured pips to none at all) for this very reason, just play on the server nearest you.

Ping is generally a sign of location, server quality and network traffic not player amount.

Also, I'm just curious... Doe's anyone know roughly how many people are playing on a server at a time? Just a rough estimate at the peak time...

Yes i live in europe, and for me markov has the highest ping, and i guess that means that i should try out emerald more than once.

That's because Markov is practically on the other side of the world :)

Werner's the European server and is still your best bet.

SOE don't release player/server numbers but back when they had numbers at the server screen I recall seeing the likes of 4000 players per server.

Doe's anyone know roughly how many people are playing on a server at a time? Just a rough estimate at the peak time...
I remember when they tried to get get everybody on line at once to break the record for most people online in a FPS, they got the record but never said the amount.
