Sit back friends, and hear a tale of sorrow.

Two and one half months ago, I pre-ordered two copies of EQII.

So far, so good. Why BB you ask? Cause I love Best Buy and they had always been reliable in the past..

Amazing how things change.

So anyhoots, I checked the status today, only to learn that my order was, yes, back ordered.

Go figure.

Not only that, the stores near me said "we won't have copies until 15 November."

Joy.

But wait! The Online store DID have the CD-Rom version in...

So I changed my order. On a whim I checked thier web site, and lo and behold, my store had copies of the game in. DVD version at that.

So now I have 2 copies held, have to drive down there after dark to get them, and when my CD-Rom Verisions, which are not cancellable, get to me, I turn them in for a refund.

Lesson to be learned, never EVER EVER again shop at Best Buy, EB World shipped thier copies out on the 7th and thier stores had copies in YESTERDAY.

So if you ever need a game at launch, don't trust Best Buy. Not only that, thier Customer Service Sucked, and I will never spend a penny there again. Ever.

Best Buy never has games on launch date. For Warhammer 40K, Evil Genius (love that game) and a few others that I wanted on release date they didn't have them in stock at all. They also didn't know (idiots work there) when they were getting them. Thankfully Gamestop and EB are only a few blocks away.

Did you read that article, I think I saw it yesterday, that said BestBuy considered people who shopped around for the lowest price "devil shoppers", but people who just paid whatever they were asking were "angel shoppers"? There was something else in there about how they were trying to deter people who shop around from coming there. I'll find it, it was an interesting article.

EDIT: Hooray! (http://online.wsj.com/article/0,,SB109986994931767086,00.html?mod=yahoo_hs)

Yeah I read it on WSJ Online. Thats fine, they want to alienate customers, thier problem, not mine, someone wills tep up and fill the hole left by that evil company.

Its evil I tell you EVIL.

Futureshop is pretty good....
Bestbuy bought them out, but it hasn't changed a bit.
Futureshop is only in Canada but they have a "Get it first" shelf which has the games out there, so im pretty sure they get the game on release.

Why would you even want EQ II? :(

Uhm, because I saw this relaly cool ad of a partially clad elf, and well. I have a thing for partially clad elves...

Joke.

I played EQ1 for almost 3 years, it hooked me on the, at the time, alien notion of gaming online with other players. I didn't have a CLUE what it was. I was underway when it launched, and when I logged in, I thought it was a Final Fantasy clone with a few people you played on line with.

I owe it to myself, and the EQ Team at least a shot for those memorable times I spent in game.

I stopped shopping at Best By 6 years ago. Before my wife and I got married we were slowly accumulating things we would need (pots, pans....bed). Well, we figured we would need a TV. We shopped around and thought Best Buy was the "best buy" (27 in Panasonic). Alas, they were out of stock, but more were coming. So we paid for it and waited. Well the date came, I went in and asked for my TV. Still had not come in. Told to check again in two days. Now I'm a lazy ass, so the next time around I call to see if its in. I get transfered a bazillion time until I get disconnected. Furious I just give up for the day. Next day, I call again...same damn thing. This time I call again and demand the manager. He apologizes and says he will make sure I get connected to the right person. He didn't, and I was transfered all over the store only to eventually be disconnected again. I call back again and demand the manager again...only to be told he just left for the day. WTF! So, I'm no longer lazy. I get my sorry ass up and head down to the store and tell them I want my TV or my money. They get somebody to the front, and tell him to check on the TV. He says sure, we have it. I follow him to the back and wait for my TV. He rolls the box out and I walk with him to my car. I thank him for his help and ask him how long had they have these TV's, he says they came in a shipment a week ago. I thank him again. Now I only use Best Buy as a show room and buy my stuff somewhere else. To date, they have not recieved one dime of my money since that incident.

As Evil as Best Buy is, Wal-Mart is 5000000x more evil.

I refuse to even set foot in one of those devil-shops. Ill pay 5x what a product is worth, rather than help support Wal-Rape.

It's so damn cheap, companies are sometimes being forced to send businesses to the Third World and hiring cheap-ass employees, and eventually lower quality so they can sell products there.

I think thats a poli forum discussion, if you want to take it up, lets go there with it. Before we get this thread Hamma'd!

Best Buy is gonna get one heck of a nasty set of letters from me tomorrow, snail mail, with my signature clear and bright on them.

Best Buy fucking sucks. They get some games in like 2 weeks late and theyre always understocked. EB Games for the win.

Edit: To be more pertinent to the discussion Best buy does not rule, while Elf porn does
