If you like FPS games, deep story, great graphics and aliens, yes.

If you like to play "Mary Kate and Ashley" console games, then no.

I've had sex with the CD on multiple occasions, and I've petitioned my congressmen to legalize Man-Electronic Device marrige.

It's a bit short. (Several PSUers have completed it, and I'm near the end, and I've not even been playing aggressively.)

Don't. I say this only to balance out all the "yes" comments. No, I havn't played it yet.

What about multiplayer?

MrVicchio
2004-11-18, 04:26 PM
Multiplayer?

Thats CS Source, and it rocks as well.

But does HL2 itself have a multiplayer, or is CS:S it, or is it something my pitiful mind isn't fully grasping?

if you're dumb enough to even ask such a question, then you don't deserve to own a computer.

I don't own one! I'm borrowing this from Sven, the Drunkard of Stockholm.

Is this a joke thread? O_

I think the original talking point on this thread is serious but due to hijacking it seems like a joke. Now to get back to the original matter in question, Half Life 2 simply owns. The Single Player is roughly 16 hours long or so I hear, I think im about 2/3rds of the way though the game. The Multiplayer component (Counter Strike Source) is great but CSS is even better if you never even player Counter Strike because, CSS is just a rehash of CS. But its a great rehash with new physics and gameplay mechanics. There are also the mods, Half Life 1 had the greatest mod community of ANY game and Half Life 2 wont dissapoint. And with Day of Defeat: Source coming out soon, you cant go wrong with Half Life 2.

HL2 makes you wish that Planetside was Red Gordon Freeman vs. Purple Gordon Freeman vs. Blue Gordon Freeman.

Simply put, half-life 2 is the most enjoyable game i have ever had the pleasure to be a part of.

If you don't have it, get it. NOW!

QFT.

your equation is irrational.

it should be HL2 > Halo 2 > (Far Cry + Doom3)

hell no farcry is right in there

EineBeBoP
2004-11-21, 12:54 AM
HL2 > FarCry > Halo 2 > Doom 3

Fixed.

...hell, im tempted to switch Doom 3 and Halo 2 around.

OneManArmy
2004-11-21, 05:52 AM
nah its definatly HL2 > Halo 2 > doom3 + farcry

you gotta factor in the multiplayer aspects.... which clearly places Halo2 above those other two by quite a large margin.

I've yet to have the pleasure of playing Halo 2, but it's on my x-mas list!

From what i've heard, it's an exceptional game, but i somehow doubt it will be anywhere near Half-Life 2's majesty.

Time will tell.

I like FarCry multiplayer
Same here, its fairly generic Multiplayer but its fun with all of the cool weapons. I equally enjoyed Far Cry and Doom 3.

I simply cannot recommend Half-life 2 enough.

If given a choice between a night with Sandra Bullock or owning a copy of HL2...HL2 would come in at an extremely close second.

if theres any game to buy, ever, its HL2.

http://planetside-universe.com/forums/images/smilies/huh.gif Squeeky the game runs great even on low-end machines. You'd be surprised at how efficient Valve made it.
