no mael is fine.

It isn't easy to get shots like that, but if you do it's awesome.

Other than situations like that, the maelstrom is a grief producing weapon that's less efficient than other HA weaps.

Meh, the primary fire is just as deadly. Assuming you're in range, you can't miss with it. And still, an entire lower level of a tower being cleared out with a few shots, where does that show the tactical squad type action I was lead to believe was involved when I bought the game? It's not fun to fight against, and it's not fun to fight with someone with it. Seeing as this is a game, that should be the biggest concern. If I get killed when I'm standing at the top of the stairs because someone got hit and lashed up the stairs, that's just lame. I'm being penalizied for someone else's stupidity.

The maelstrom is, simply put, an overpowered gimmick made to sell more copies of Core Combat.

I love the global in your screenshot, right after spike420 gets all those kills, Steckler sends a global congratulating the NC at the tower :)

It is going to be split into two weapons; one weapon will be a HA gun with the current maelstrom's primary fire, the second will be a SA weapon with the explosives. Samhayne has mentioned his plans to do this on several occassions.
