I saw this a long long long time ago, and I dont beleive this has ever been posted here before. I think it represents the show quite accurately.

Children, calm down before Mama has to beat you with an aluminium baseball bat
I've never actually seen DBZ on sheer principle, but from what I've heard about it, that flash sums it up in a pretty nice little nutshell!
I will destroy them with my...
very powerful hands! I will destroy them with my very powerful hands.

I'm not immune- I was sucked into Pokemon after some initial resistance, but jumped ship early once the stupid cards started coming out. I didn't see the point.

Then you realized the only stuff worth watching was the stuff made for grown-ups (not porn :p ) that only gets airtime at midnight or later here in the USA or not at all.

Right but it wasn't until toonami on Cartoon Network soared in popularity that DBZ got really popular. That's why all of a sudden there were DBZ cards and DBZ action figures. It may have existed well before Pokemon but it was only until the show had a prime time hour that it's mass appeal begain which of course was shortly after the beginning of the fall of the Pokemon dynasty.

DBZ was the fucking shit in my area when I was in elementary school, but, now it seems kinda redundant. And yes, I loose at life for getting into the Pokemon shit :(
I used to go up to the local card place and try and be ub3r by beating some l337 kid wiht meh ch4r4z4rd!!!1325234!#$123412# It was so hardcore. Even my brother and all his friends (who were about 16 when this was all happening) played the pokemon cards and colloected DGZ cards with me. But then they grew up and started smoking.

anime sucks to begin with. When I was in high school there was this loser who was anime obsesed (i don't know how to spell obsessed). On halloween he dressed up as a character in DragonBall. He walked by the student smoking pit and was dragged in by a couple of bigger students. He left school early with a broken nose.

Anime is like Rap, Country, Opera, or WoW/EQ2. It's all a matter of opinion. Calm down.

The only anime i really got into so far is Cowboy Bebop, and that is because CB is pure unfettered awesome, and with real guns as opposed to power hands and the word "bro".

You would so fucking dig Hellsing (http://hellsing.pioneeranimation.com/) then. Boxed set is available at finer video stores everywhere.

Oh, so now I'm a *** for being mildly interested in Anime now, am I?
What you people seem to miss is that Anime's like Dragonball Z and Pokmon are pretty much the bottom of the barrel when it comes to anime. I love all theses generic stereotypes of anime fans.
Personally, I'm not that into Anime, but I do own a couple of box sets (08th MS Team subbed and a couple of Detective Conan box sets).

If I liked anime, Hellsing would be my favorite. I watched a few episodes and I definitely acquired an appreciation for the series.

Anime isn't that great. Unless you get the good stuff, which is hard to find in the US.

Join a college anime club or something similar. I helped my college form ours and I've gotten a lot of amazingly cool anime out of it.
Watch some of the anime series on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network late at night), most of those are pretty good for someone just starting to watch anime. Those are series that aren't really meant for kids, and feature some really deep storylines and lots of good action that doesn't really cater to young children.
