I'm going to be going to a christening, and I would like to get hold of a suit for it. Being young, I have no idea what I should wear. I've been told that I don't need to wear a tie, but by others I have been told to wear a tie. Also, are there are brand name suits that are well respected? I could possibly use this suit again in business ventures.
Are there any certain colours I should wear, or should I stick with the good old black and white suit? I'm not suggesting purple/pink pimp suits, just suits with black shirts, white ties etc.

Please don't spam with thread, derail it or post useless stuff like :google:.

I would suggest going with what looks best on you. I would get a tie anyways, you can always just take it off. Personally, I like Khaki suits and good old Black and White, but whatever works for you.

If you want something that's not cheap, but still a nice suit, go to a Burton shop and get yourself sorted out.

I have a suit by them, it's extremely comfortable and looks good too :)

As for ties, I'd wear one to look presentable - If you're going to be wearing a white shirt, you can't go wrong with a blue tie, otherwise a dark grey shirt and a dark red tie go nice together.

My suit is Black Armani, and I wear a blue shirt and black tie with it... but thats just me...

I go with a Black suit, Morpheus-green shirt, black pants, and no tie.

White/Blue combo also works well.

I wear a suit to school every day. Old pic, old, bad, thin-wearing dyed hair:

I have a black-with-thin-navy-vertical-pinstripe suit, both jacket and trousers matching (you can get separate ones, say a pinstripe jacket and plain trousers). I really like it, and it's comfortable.

Pinstripe isn't for everyone though.

I'm gonna get a nice black suit. With a black shirt. And black jacket. But a pink tie. I fucking love that look on me.

Black and pink is the new Tamagotchi. AKA noisy and irratating.
