I wouldn't say I was a nerd, because I have friends and such...more of a gamer.
I played football and wrestling for a couple years and I was good at it...Dont have a girlfriend, but hey im only 14. I go to lan parties as well.

Only a couple of my friends know the extent of my nerdiness. girls I go out with, people I party with, all usually have no clue.

I'm not sure how much of a nerd I am. I'm into MMORPGs and stuff, and I know alot about every major game, but Ive done so much to bring down my nerd points. Between gaming less and dating a model (broke up, she was a whore), it might be in the negatives now.

Life? What's that?
No relationships. I've had enough of them.
Ofcourse I have friends. Everyone does.
I used to play rugby, but I can't now due to dual knee injury.
I was [Mr. T]HELLUVA TOUGH.[/Mr. T]
Video games arn't a big part of my life. A big part of my life is spent on the computer, but that's whoring forums and talking to my mates on MSN.
All of my life what?
I don't go to parties; last one I went to, I got drunk off my face and ended up violently regurgitating my food. Several times.
LAN parties are ok for me, but I'd rather go to a party where there will be female interaction and alcohol. At the same time. Shenanigans ensue. (Or hilarity in my case).

Basicly im a middle man, im not a jock, nor am I in the Ghetto group,im not super popular yet everyone knows me and i got a wide group of friends. I was a nerd as you can say back in like 6th/7th grade, but 7th grade my best friend left and since my school then only had like 300 kids (76 in my grade), there wasn't any other group that matched mine but i had a friend that was in the "ghetto" group so i kinda glided over there and now i hang out with them as the "bouncer" since i'm so huge.

I play football, i'm starting line next year, i'm gangster, i say foo, dawg, then i talk southerner. You can call me a geek for I play videogames a lot, but then all the sophmors on the football team had Halo Lan parties before games (serious, they had pasta too, big win....well all our games were big wins....40+ - 14-). Call me what you want, i know what "nerds" mean when they talk, I know what jocks say when they talk. i'm an all around guy.

Someone explain the difference between a nerd and a geek, please. Tres confused.

Well either way I don't consider myself any of the above, although I do spend quite alot of time on the computer chatting on MSN, forums, or games. I'm a gamer, like most of you, no shame in that. I always go out on weekends, go to parties and their are no lack of, for the most part. I drink with girls, smoke with girls, do things with girls all the time. So I'm not a geek or nerd. I guess.I'm a huge geek/nerd. Probably the biggest in my school... only a select few can rival me. I openly admit it. I mean, come on. I'm a band *** (in Marching Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band), I'm striving to be a Video Game Developer (Computer Programming 2AP and Physics 2AP), I'm a Star Wars Geek, and, I could go on, but that's all for now.

Well, I didn't see everyone in the band is a loser, I said I, myself, happen to be a band ***. And I didn't mean all jocks are idiots, even though that's pretty much exactly what I said, I meant the jocks that I encounter happen to be idiots.

It's not that jocks are idiots, its just that a lot of them are hypocrits who use the model citizen stereotype propogated by 1956 film and end up, at least in the case of my school, raping a retarded girl in the ass behind the bleachers during the football game. That's why I hate jocks.

Geek. I have quite a social life, and play sports. However, a lot of my social life is derived from geek-related activites - LAN Parties, D&D, etc. However, I do hang out with my friends quite a bit.

Im a geek, but I also retain some normal-person qualities. Have had some relationships, one lasted 6 months, the others, 2 or 3 weeks. Wangface.

Kikinchikin

It's all relative. If I went to a school somewhere in Oklahoma where sports and football are the most important things in the world, then I would be a huge geek. But living in Virginia and going to the school I go to, I would say no. If anything I consider myself eccentric. I'm not a jock, gangster, stoner, drama kid, band kid, goth, science kid or anything else. I don't fit in any cliques or groups, I associate with a large, diverse group of people, although only a few I actually consider "good friends." I consider myself much more open minded and intellectual than most of the people I know and thus am sometimes annoyed by them (IE idiot racists, girls that act like ditzs, people that consider any conversation that goes beyond what they drank/smoked/banged on Friday a deep one).

As for games being important in my life, yes I consider them very important. I take them seriously and they are one of my major hobbies. However, I also race gokarts, am a professional comedian in a comedy troupe, bowl, love auto racing, enjoy photography, used to run cross country before my knees fucked up, spend time with friends, work hard in school, and more. But, as I stated, it's all relative. What someone thinks a nerd is another may think isn't.

I have a boyfriend who is a geek, but a very social, clean, loveable geek.

I have friends in many different countries who go out and drink and go out and see movies and throw dinner parties.

I do yoga and pilates. I used to play soccer, lacrosse, and softball. I quit playing softball when I realised my teammates were hitting on me (that was 7th grade).

Agreed. I used to get into a lot of trouble, because in girls lacrosse, you're not supposed to hit eachother (since all you wear are shin guards). But we always played this one team that played dirty, and after three games worth of taking their shit, we lost it, and those girls got bruised and muddy.

I don't think I qualify for either. I'm one of the "subtley cool" people. I say this because my school is full of people like this (http://chavscum.co.uk/4images/data/media/1/xtremeburbery_fetish_man.jpg) so it's not hard to be cool. Personally I'm rarely around people my age, and much prefer to hang out with people from the sixth form, or one of the local Universities. I go to parties (well, a lot less recently, as I've been putting aside time to study, shame I never actually do it :(), have had more than my share of girlfriends, and quite a lot of friends. I'm very smart (apparently) yet no-one calls me a nerd, so I guess I must be doing some things right!

are games a big part of your life ? Yes
all of your life ? Except for when I was a little baby.
are parties for you lan parties ? My friends think it's too geeky to do that.
or actual parties ? I haven't been to an actual party since April and even then I just played MP2 all night on my friend's PC.

Back on the topic of D&D, let me put it into perspective. Being a nerd means you need to be unoriginal, and probably obsessed with some random unknown japanese SNES game that is apparently the greatest game in the world. Along with this comes being anti-social.

D&D is very much a social activity. As some people get together to watch a football game, my friends and I get together and play D&D. It has only really adopted that nerd thing since all those kids back in the 70s who hated everything played D&D and killed their families.

thats a bit outrageous. Nerds arent always sociopaths, they often are in groups. There are Star Ward nerds, Star Terk nerds, D&D nerds, EQ nerds, anime nerds, theres just so many diferent kinds. you cant be so specific when defining it.
