does a memory leak occur after your character is saved? because it crashed again right after the save...

hey fatal.. just got through killing you a bunch of times. I am BoomerNC..
anyway, I had the same problem, and am not sure if its fixed. But when i was on an hour not to long ago, long enough to get a few kills in, I had done something to my engile3d_options.
Open engine3d_options in the planetside folder. There should be a line that says " use_managed_vbs" or something along those lines. It says false, set that to true.
also, take the sides off of your case. That way your computer will be niced and aired out. Order a new cooling system, because planetside is causing your system to overheat.
Good luck. This solved the problem for me.. and by chance, do you have an Nvidia chipseet, or an AMD processor, or an ATI card, or the combination of them all?

Taking the sides off a computer is not a good idea unless you are working inside the case. Unless all your fans break...

One panel of my PC is permanently off. It overheats otherwise :tear:

Then airflow is a problem...EIDE cables are notorious for it.
