lmfao! There should be 2 latches in the back of the case where you can remove one panel.(at least that's how my Gateway opens)

Is it this case:

http://www.dell.com/us/en/dhs/products/model_dimen_4550_back_2_dimen_4550.htm

If so that little latch near the bottom right(just above the very bottom vent) should unlock the case. Man that's weird

Just look for snaps or screw in back or side. :)

man, don't feel bad... a friend of mine has a compaq that we have to get a screwdriver to pop the side off even after the screws are taken out... it's a pain :)

That is EXACTLY why they make it so hard :)

Leave it to dell to make elaborate puzzles for cases. Might as well have made the case out of one piece of metal. They could make a small hole in it so you could look at the parts you will never be able to upgrade.

One piece cases are no problem for Mr. Skillsaw!

My HP's case is very easy to open and is very user intuitive. (In fact, of all the cases I have come across, it is my favorite.) If I didn't plan on building my next computer I would get another HP.
