Okay, my family in florida is filthy rich, which is weird because i can't relate to the rich-ness because i come from a middle-class family in north-eastern ohio... my dad owns his own small business and my mom is a secretary for some big deal doctor. Still, we struggle every year, especially around christmas. This year I'm only going to ask my parents for one thing and one thing only. My dad said he really wants to get me something nice that he thinks i'll have for a long time. We talked about it and finally decided on getting me a watch.
I, being the funny-ha-ha guy that I am, suggested a Seiko Kinetic right off the bat and my dad almost had a heart attack. Seiko's go for about $600.
So, I've come up with these three watches, all are under $100.. just out of curiosity, which one do you guys think i should get. i mean, i like all three about the same, so the lean of this community, whose oppinion i trust for some insane reason ( ;) ;) ) will decide which time-piece i get..
here's the line up.. OH, and if any of you have any suggestions that'd be great. Like if you know of watches under $100 that are cool as hell, gimme pics :D
FOSSIL Gunmetal Degrade Dial. $65

FOSSIL Gold Dial, Dress Chrono ... $95

A little more but so damn stylish - Uber watch (http://www.fossil.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=8524&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=957&iSubCat=967&iProductID=8524)
Fossil make some nice watches, although I'm not too sure if the qualitys good... I've got a few friends with some, so I'll ask for you :) My dad's had a Seiko watch for around 15 years now though, so those things last :) You can pick them up new for around $75 on amazon too.

I like the gold. I wear suits to work every day and have a movado and two tag heuers. The movada and one of the tags have gold inlays and they go very well with business attire. They are very striking and look nice.
If you are not going to be wearing the watch for getting dressed up then I defintely would not go with the gold. However, if you wear business clothes I nominate the gold all the way.

4 and 5 are my favorites.. 4 is in the lead, though, haha.. :P
what i like about five, the one with the gold dial, is that it's more of a champagne color. there's actually very little gold on the watch. my Nana & Papa (grandparents on my mother's side) are getting me the suit of my choice for christmas this year. they figure i need a nice suit since i'm going to be going to talk to publishers and what not pretty soon. i love it. new suit, new watch. sweeeet. i'll post some of the suits concepts i've been looking at. you guys can help me with those, too. :P this is gonna be my "dan goes sexy adult" christmas! woot-sauce!

Men's Warehouse has some really good suits at discounted prices. I haven't bought any suits from them but I have seen their selection and have bought a shirt or two from them.
What they do is receive last seasons clothes and surplus clothes from high end fashion stores. They will then sell them at a reduced price. I've seen some nice Donna Karan suits there for great prices. They also have great customer service for picking out ties and shirts to match. I give it a big thumbs up

i want a black pinstripe suit soooooooooo bad it's not even funny. my friend Jay is my exact same size and build and i borrowed one of his Black pinstripe suits to go to this formal thing for one of my ex-girlfriend's dad's business things. don't ask how i got into that mess.. just don't.
but, i loved it and everyone said i looked good in it. it was a great suit. i forget who it was by.. hugo boss or something. had a really nice deep blue shirt and matching tie... god it was fucking l33t... so, that's what i'm looking into.
would men's wearhouse carry hugo boss? cuz that suit's about a year old.

all gold watches look retarded. i think a watch can look really good if there's a small, tastful amount of gold in it. not like a fucking gold rolex. that's gross. too much gold. i'll be honest, i don't like gold very much either, but i do like that champagne color on the fifth watch.

I'm noy much of a watch guy. Infact, I don't wear anything that slightly resembles jewelery. If I ever want to check the time I just whip out my cell phone.
But if I were to choose i'd choose a watch without gold.

I think the Gunmetal Chronograph may be my winner. Every time i see it it just looks sexier. Black's kinda my color. I love it. I just got a pair of Black DC's.. that watch would look so hott with them. Studded belt, Studded Cuff on my right hand, and Watch on my left with the black dc's... fucking.. sweet.
now for a suit. gotta figure out what i'm doing. i think i'm going black pinstripe with this color blue shirt and tie

aren't they _all_ "gunmetal chronograph" ?
and for suit, imo, go totally standard.
single-breast normal collar etc
http://www.puritan.capecodshops.com/prod_img/pc0023.jpg
don't get anything unusual until you already have a few good all-purpose suits

Martyr, the thing is, i'm not a very normal person, as i'm sure you've noticed. i like to be show-y and i really havn't had that opportunity when it comes to clothes because my family doesn't have much money.
this is my rich-y southern family trying to assimilate me into their culture.. hahaha... i think it's a bit twisted, and i don't really like the whole "money" atmousphere, but... i mean.. a new suit, and a cool one at that.. i love the flash. i dunno, i suppose i'll see what happens, and i will say: you make a very valid point.

Pinstripe suit can be very posh if done correctly. Solid-colored oxford underneath (white!!) with a solid-colored tie.

I have a Seiko Kenetic with a broken band that I'd be willing to part with.
It's in pretty good shape, except the obvious broken band, and the fact that it was wy every day watch for like 5 years... so that obvious wear. (and I have to make sure my wife didn't ditch it in our move... she does those kinda things.)
But I'd be willing to part with it pretty cheap if you really want one.
My G/F (now wife) bought me a Citizen Titanium Eco-drive to replace it. (I can't wear a watch with batteries)
Any way, PM me or have your dad e-mail me
