I played this game in beta and for some reason decided I diddn't like it. Then my friend came over about a week ago and showed me the game again. Next thing you know I have a lvl 14 human mage on trichondrius. Anyone on that server wanna hook up sometime?

Hmm, well in beta I never really left the newbie area. I made a hole bunch of characters and decided that class was boring and eventualy just gave up. In retail I finaly setled on my mage and got it to a higher level and started grouping and questing. Much fun.

Well, the game starts out a bit slow. This is why I diddn't like it in beta, I diddn't give any character more then a few hours of play. Once you put a bit of time into a char and start questing in groups and trading and all that shit. Well then it starts to get awsome. Being a mage I tend to deal the majority of the dammage and stay back from the fight so I feel like im helping my group by nukeing the baddies. That makes the game really fun. Working with a group using a character you have invested time and effort into to make your own. If you want any more info ask a more specific question trig.

Being a pure caster can be quite fun and also annoying because you will find that death is common. I play a Warlock now and at least they can turn souls into health.

From what I've read, I think the best part of the game will be the fact that there is no real penalty for dying. You have to walk back from the graveyard and reclaim your body, but you don't lose any xp. Very innovative idea.

The biggest and best part of the game for me is playing with my fellow CDL teammates I have gamed with for years. In order to get the full experience you have to play your char more through, you arent going to get a good feel of things if you run around northshire slaying the lvl 5 deifias 7 times in a row on different characters
I am a lvl 32 Paladin now and having a blast, doing leatherworking and skinning as well to provide people who need it with leather armor, kits, quivers etc. I am just working to 40 so I can get my horse, after that I will cool down the leveling and start getting into more PVP.

Yea you only lose your armor and weapon durability, so when you respawn and head back to town you have to repair your equipment. Early in the game it is fairly cheap but recently when I have died it has cost me almost 20 silver

I was a paladin in FFXI. I really enjoyed dying for my teammates and being the protector. How is it in WoW? That's the job I'll probably choose I think.
edit: how is grouping? In FFXI one of the major problems was not being able to group with friends who were any more than 2 levels off.
