Netgear� RP614 Cable/DSL Web Safe Router and Connection Problems

I tried searching the forums, but couldn't find a post that i needed so i'm hopeing someone can help me. I've played planetside for a while with no kind of problems, but i've just installed a Netgear� RP614 Router, and now when i try and start up the game it gets to the connection screen, but shows no form of activity. Please someone help, as i really would like to try and get it working on my new computer.

you probably have some ports that need opening, but i don't know what they are.

Ok, i've fixed this problem, but now i've got a new one :mad: . I can now get past the connecting screen and spawn in sanctuary, but after a few seconds my computer just goes into some type of standby mode, but i cant pull it out of it. The screen goes black and all my lights have stopped flashing. can anybody please help me with this new problem?
