So, you all know about the problems I was having with the Walther PPK/S.

I didn't feel comfortable concealing it (going for the course tomorrow with Martyr), so we started shopping for a new weapon for me.

I walked into the gun store tonight thinking I was going to leave with a Sig 232. After talking things over with the ex-military Airborne guy, and playing with the Sig to mimic a real-life situation where I'd have to use the gun in a hurry, we decided to explore other options. Mainly because the Sig is, to say the least, very I'll say complicated. Mag release is a catch on the bottom of the gun - small things that'd make it cumbersome in an emergency situation.

Anyway, he recommended a Taurus something-or-other and - get this - a Walther P99. I hated the Taurus immediately and put it down. Now, the Walther P99 - that was a great idea. It's a simple gun that I'm really quite familiar with (if you'd forgotten, it's what John [a.k.a. Martyr] carries). However, I have tiny hands, and if my goal is to have something I'm comfortable concealing, the standard P99 wouldn't do.

So I bought the compact.

Ta-dah!!

I will upload "real" pictures of me with the gun and the two P99's together :)

Phat gat yo. First thing i'm doing when i'm 21. Taking a few safety courses and firearm familiarity courses, and adding something new to my nightstand.

Good choice. IMO, Walther's the second best Limey gun-maker (Next to Enfield). And nice decision on not getting the Sig 232, that thing is UGLY.

Biohazzard56
2004-12-15, 08:47 PM
Yea, thats cooler than the Sig 232.

If it was me id get a 1911, but you dont need that kind of pistol, I think the Walther's was a good choice for you.

Thats way too small, I cannot stand ultra compact "pocket" pistols. They have no range, I know thats what they were designed for but get something that looks like its serious.

Is it just me, or does everyone hate guns made in Miami?

Taurus, Intratec, etc.

They all look generic, nothing about Taurus pistols says James Bond at all.

It isn't so much how they look, it's that they're bulky, cumbersome, and I don't know enough about the brand to trust it.

Oh, and Walther's aren't Limey. They're German, and sort of Smith and Wesson.

I can see how nobody likes the TEC-9 (except the gun control freaks, I still don't get them), but why hate Taurus?

They have THE RAGING BULL!!!

But it's THE RAGING BULL!

It's bulky.
It's cumbersome.
It's like driving a beer can through your target at blazing velocities.

Camera's

You know Camera's have this awesome new feature called a timer. Safety on, finger off the trigger. If for some reason the gun discharges, all you got is a toasted camera.
