[04:11:56] Doop: ngayah
[04:12:02] Doop: how would one go about doing this
[04:12:30] martyr: easiest way is to set both machines to be on the same workgroup, enable file&print sharing, and share the remote machine's optical drive out.
[04:14:11] martyr: i'm not sure what's hard about clicking a mouse, but if that's your bag-

[04:22:35] martyr: have you ever seen a window?
[04:22:39] Doop: i took a shot for you
* Retrieving #tech info...
[04:23:05] martyr: windows are often divided into different, small peices of glass
[04:23:15] martyr: so you see two different things, one through each pane
[04:23:25] martyr: curiously, windows is a lot like a window, with many panes in one window.
[04:23:33] Doop: ...penis?
[04:23:37] Doop: i don't see where you're getting at
[04:23:56] Doop: on my shot is what i'm looking for there?
[04:24:33] martyr: now when i refer to the "left pane"
[04:24:37] martyr: i mean the pane on the left side of the window
[04:24:48] martyr: when i say "the section named other places"
[04:24:56] martyr: i mean the little square in it labeled "other places"
[04:25:03] Doop: oh
[04:25:03] Doop: that
[04:25:04] martyr: and when i say "link to my network places"
[04:25:07] Doop: rofflepenis
[04:25:14] martyr: i mean the words than are underlined that say "my network places"

[04:28:00] martyr: do you have a login for that machine?
[04:28:04] Doop: network path wasn't found
[04:28:07] Doop: whadoo you mean
[04:28:11] martyr: er... is it turned on?
[04:28:17] Doop: probably
[04:28:19] Doop: yea
[04:28:20] martyr: .
[04:28:40] Doop: she has a password.
[04:28:42] Doop: if that mattes.
[04:28:44] Doop: matters*
[04:28:50] Doop: you know like on her windows xp account thingy
[04:28:53] martyr: do you have a login for that machine?
[04:28:59] Doop: what do you mean
[04:29:02] Doop: "login"
[04:29:06] martyr: can you log into the computer
[04:29:11] Doop: what do you mean
[04:29:15] Doop: from here?
[04:29:18] Doop: or from there
[04:29:19] martyr: from there
[04:29:30] Doop: from my comp by saying "there"
[04:29:36] Doop: by there you're either saing here or at that comp
[04:29:52] Doop: oh
[04:29:55] Doop: if you mean AT that very computer
[04:29:59] Doop: that has the working drive
[04:30:07] Doop: yes, i could. i could turn it on, put in her password (i know it)
[04:30:08] Doop: and log in
[04:30:25] Doop: like when you turn your comp on? you sometimes have different "account" thingys?
[04:30:40] martyr: k, stop talking
[04:30:50] Doop: if i had a nickel for everytime someone said that
[04:30:55] Doop: let's just say i wouldn't be here
[04:30:56] Doop: amirite
[04:31:32] martyr: windows doesnt distinguish remote users from local users.
[04:32:12] <Doop> windows doesn't what what users from what
[04:32:22] martyr: if you have an account with which you can log in at the keyboard of that computer, you can use that same account to access the computer and its drives from over the network - using your own computer, in this case - provided you make the necessary configuration changes
[04:32:37] <Doop> what
-
* Added doop!*@* to ignore list
-
[04:34:03] martyr: what this means for you: if you know "her" username and password, you can use it to log into the computer remotely - from your computer.
[04:34:34] <PSU-martyr> however, in order to map the network drive, as is our intention, you'll have to go to the computer and log in locally first
[04:35:04] <PSU-martyr> then you'll turn on file sharing and enable said file sharing on the cd-drive you want to use.
[04:37:42] <PSU-martyr> to enable file and print sharing on her (the remote) computer, you'll need to log in as an administrator, presumably the only login you have
[04:38:01] <PSU-martyr> you'll open the control panel and switch to classic view if it isn't already
[04:38:09] <PSU-martyr> open network connections
[04:38:17] * Parts: Doop

I do that to people a lot.

I was playing Halo 2 while talking :p
mb means maybe.
ngayah is from Retarded Animal Babies. when the babies started playing superhero, Satan would rise from the ground and say "can i play too?" and they'd say "Sure, satan!" and he'd go "ngayah!"
