Wow, I've not really been around here for ages. People who were around during PlanetSide's early days remember me, but that's beside the point.

Anyway, intrigued by the apparent plethora of new things which have been unleashed upon the game, I'm currently downloading the trial version. It's going to take a couple of days though, so I figure that I may as well ask -- what exactly has changed since pretty much just after Core Combat came out?

You don't have to tell me every single little balancing fix, but any large changes that have considerably affected the game would be nice to know. Thanks people. ;D

Boyo boy, where to begin. I have just returned to Planetside so I've had some time to get adjusted.

BFRs
Merit Commendations
Platoons
New Vehicle Variants
New Vehicles
MAX Buff

That's really all I can think of. Still waiting on that Phantasm though.

Phanstasm has been canned
But you can expect a new global lattice structure in the next two weeks

And sometime in the next 5 months, should be expecting base redesigns

Just yesterday, they posted a bunch of fixes and stuff.

Oh yeah, and the Battle Islands will have No HA, No Heavy Vehicles, and Free Empire Specific Assault Buggies for everyone.

Thrik! Good to see you again.

With all these updates I might start playing again sometime too.

Hello, hello! <3

Well it downloaded earlier, and I guess I'll be seeing these new changes mentioned shortly. There's a nice hint of nostalgia around the game. I really hope that they do some kind of sequel in the future, when internet connections and machines can handle a much more ambitious (and not to mention pretty) game.

It's nice to see that my FPS is now 70-120, rather than the old 1-20. ;)
