Im currently like 4.3% done, but I just won the japan cup and got the prize car which is the 350z that is uber souped up.

I have, and im only 2.3% through it. I imported liscences, but i still need to get IA, i am stuck on test 15, 10 min to complete it. I have a '05 Mustang GTO and the Nike car. I have won the Sunday cup, and FR challenge. This is one of the best games i have ever played, its so fun, and addictive.

i did not inport any of the licences...im working on my IB..stuck on the last pace thing where you in the little chitty chitty bang bang car and you have to go though some small town and and and and the dam dam fricken pace car slows down so you hit it and you fail!

The *** cup is a good way to get credits when you first start, i mean 7.5 if you get 1st place in each race and 35k if get more points then the rest of the cars

But thats what makes GT so much fun, you have to work to get good cars and unlike in most games you cant go 150mph into a 90 degree turn and come out clean. Its like real driving atleat as real as you can get in a game.

Yeah, and with out some upgrades, it gets pwned by the Silverado SS coming out of corners and down straight, but I think it handles it a bit better.

GAH! im so pissed at my self. I Just bought a new transmision for my car, the most expensive, so i decide to go to New York, but i forgot to tune my gears! and now i get owned by all the vehicles of the turns, but i make up for it on the long straights. This is the best racing game i have ever played, unlike burnout or nfs, i feel like i have accomplished something when i can get arround a track in record time. Also, this game has infinite replay value. And can any one give me tips for the stupid german track which i foget its name. its 12 miles and has 117 turns, im being stumped on this for my IA liscense.

No. Burnout 3 sucks. Any racing fan that has burnout 3 cant be called a racing fan. Burnout isnt even a racing game, its cars blowing up. Very un-technical. Quoted from gamespot forums, "If you are 10, get burnout 3, if your older than 10, get GT4". Burnout sucks compared to this.

still, in my opinion, GT4 is the better game, to me its more like driving, not pressing X and thats it... thats all burnout is, you press X, and move the thumbstick, not like drving at all, well, atleast i dont think so. GT4 requires skill to play, there is a brake button, aand you actually use it :eek: . Also, i dont think your car is a GT or a Viper... i may be wrong, you may have been one of the lucky 7 to get a GT. If so, could you please tell me the numbers for next weeks lottery?

edit: Secondraven, how do you come off the turns? full throttle, or ease onto the gas? I had this problem with my Mustang GTO, but i started feathering on the gas, and i came of with no problem, also, have you tuned the GT that much?

thats fine if simulations your bag, but I prefer crashing things. :D and no I dont have a viper but I do have a firebird and there are plenty of drag strips and autocross events around here that I can enter. so :)

MR cars are the most balanced, if anything it should be the easiest to corner with. If you are one the grass a lot, you should probably lay off the gas a bit, and soften up the suspension a bit to suit your lead foot style of driving, it will keep twitchyness down.

Also, I can tell yuo guys don't plan your lines prior to hitting the track. in theory if you take the corner perfectly, you should be able to come off full throttle every single time, what lies ahead permitting.

wow. I just got the Cadilac Ciena, and the Ford GT. Best cars ever. The GT has the best cornering out of all my cars, it turns the best, best response, i love this car, its great. Then the ciena, wow.... just wow, so fast, so beautiful, yeah, its a cadilac, but i dont give a damn if it drives like this!

Are you insane?

Keeping the wheel straight is the only way to prevent you from spinning out. Not drifting. Hence why your lines need to be good.

Wow, am I the only one that beat it drifting? That's how I handled basically every sharp turn, you have to get it just right with the brake though or you spin out. I also memorized every track, I have always found that essential. It was a good game, didn't take long but it was good.

What that does is when you're driving, randomly there will be these rabbid forest rabbits that will pop out and try to attack you. That's when you press X twice to exit your car and you can shot them.

Different cars require different setups. Everything from suspension tuning, tires, etc...

Right now i'm driving a late 80's Toyota MR2. I knew i'd pick up a MR car right off the bat, because they usually dont require much suspension tuning early on, and I can focus my money on performance upgrades. It's paying off nicely.

I think im around 16-17% done..not totaly sure. But one thing i do know is that the second rally race in speical events or whatever its called is the best way to make money. With that i mean you race on that easy track both in standard and reverse and you win a prize car that is worth 200k. total both races should take you under 10min so you can easly make a million hour.

Right now I haven't really used the GT, Just bought one for the sake of having it. Just go practice on tracks you have trouble with and srew with your setups to find what you like. Personally, I like stiuff suspension, with as little body roll as I can, heavy front braking, offset by a slightly higher ride hieght, and softer tires.

Its all a matter of preference. I can not stand to drive front wheel drive cars, but there are people who swear by them. I have to be pushed not pulled.

Well, for the time being I've been playing GT3, as 4 isn't out. I'm going to pre-order it tomorrow and have it in my hands on the 9th, ready for some all night gaming sessions.

In the mean time, I did an endurance race in my race spec RX7 (rotary powarrrr!) and won, I was expecting to get a nice GT car, but ended up with *drum roll* - an F1 :D

It's great fun to drive, but I think the game really becomes too easy with one.

Lol Secondraven, lol. I'm sorry if I beat the game, but I did. And that is how I did it. Also, did you ever consider that I set my cars up so I could drift? Memorizing tracks takes five mins, just stare at the map from far out and you get the general layout. Online tips help too, when I got stuck I used the the forums. Three of my other friends have beaten it as well, and one of them never uses the brake, ever. One of the cars I liked the most was the Elise 111S, man that thing handles well.

Agree 60%, mainly because of 4 (and consequently 5)

With the right setup, it would be possible to make a Ford GT powerslide ("drift", what are you, japanese? LOL AE86 DORIFTOOOOOOOOOO!!!!) fairly easily, although skill would be needed as well, which "Mr. Bigshot" has in ******.

Ya the cars that have the _ _ next to it for a price you have to win from what i understand. In GT4 there is only one prize car per series but you can clear the series and do it all over and win the car again. This is very useful for one of the rally races due to the prize cars vaule is 200k and the race is very easy to win.

Ill be going into the National Guard until I finish college; with this they pay for college and trust me UNC isn�t cheap. Also i can start go gain experience and rank. Though my rank will be an E3 when i join the guard ill be an Officer when I get done with college. For the people that are not up with army ranks and how that shit works ill do a little talking. If you come strait into the army as an officer you are not liked very much due to well you make a shit load more then any NCO and you don�t have the experience that they do. My plan is that I go to the guard and get my experience as a NCO and then become an office, which will gain the respect of my solders under me.

Edit: I leave for bootcamp after this semester of college then off to AIT to get my MOS

The physics are VERY hard to get used to compared to GT3... I think I may have to test the game alot longer ;)

I stopped using the wheel for the time being, once I get to grips with the driving and physics, i'll move to the wheel.

I added a wing because the tail got TOO happy, but now it has TOO much grip, even on sports tires.

I like the top down on a lone car drive, the drivers actions when he changes gear look so fluent.

I have the nike car, i think its a bit stupid, because it looks so fast and sleek, but it only does 160, while my musntabg GTO can get upto 190, and my Ford GT upto 240... car still looks neet, but my only problem is, you cany use it in any race...

You don't get the nike car with the S liscense... well, I didn't anyway.

I believe it was IA.

The Nurburgring is the hardest road course imho.

Nope, it's a special car.

If you have the special liscence, you still can't race it....

Read the thread I linked to earlier - The model is too large (hence why convertible cars have their roofs up when you race others, but down on a lone drive)

My uncle used to have one of these, when the turbo kicked in you were really thrown back. 155mph top speed and nearly got banned in the UK.

It's the original fast saloon, fuck you impreza or lancer evo lovers.

Nope.

One thing, if you want a fun car, go to uk, grab a caterham... so much fun.

It's a special car though, no racing with it... but if you want something that you CAN race with that's so much fun - goto suzuki, do the races there, then do the concept races, you'll come out with a GSX-R/4, it's a BLAST to drive.

I have been spending time tuning and doing top speed and 400m runs, just because I have ammassed a ton of credits. I need a break from the long ass races.

Just picked up the game over spring break and all I can say is it freaking OWNS!
Right now working on my licenses (IB,IA, and then S). Chances are I'll be spending a lot of hours here because I just plain suck at doing the license stuff.
