history class (in high school) is so totally pointless. i have to study the history of Europe this year, a place i will very unlikely visit. my complaint is not necessarily that i will not visit Europe, but moreso that we only study the when and the where, not the why or the how. whats the use of this?:confused:

well, i was curious as to what you fine ps nerds here thought about the matter.:lol:

i mean , is history class really as pointless as i think it to be, or am i putting my foot in my mouth?

I love history. Not the datebook history, but the real stories.

I love history.

The key to understanding the future, is understanding the past.

^ I love History. Only class I can sleep, not do the work, take a big test and ace it and pass the class with C C and an A on final. Its soo easy and once I learn something in it I never forget it, least not importent stuff. History and gym are my fav. subjects and thats not a combo you find often.

Sorry but I dont see a point to type all perfect and all, as long as its readable and not too bad it should be fine. And anyway english 11b is bs, expects us to write a 10 page paper on the catcher in the rye.

I like history. Like others have said, not just dates and stupid crap. I really like the history of Rome, Germanic tribes, and vikings ect. I also like, this might sound kind of odd and weird, but I like the learn the meaning and beginning of words and phrases we use today.

Like why do some people call me as crazy as a mad hatter? Before people knew mercury was poisonous, they used to use it to clean hats. So the people that worked with the mercury cleaning the hats went crazy after a while.

Or why do some people say someone like to be in the lime light? Back before there were jiggawat spot lights there small little bowl like things on the stage that had if I remember correctly powder lime in it and the bowl thing had like a mirror type thing that would reflect the light when the powder was lit.

yeah I agree, alot of history classes are just pointlessly hard, I know we have to learn from our mistakes and at least have an idea of what happened back then, but they don't have to make it so boring and hard

If you get a shitty teacher the class can be torture. However when you land an interesting teacher this class can be awsome IMO.

Exactly what i was gonna say. Ya could go through school and disagree with everything and hate it but in the end when u graduate, if u even do, you will realize how stupid u were. School today, atleast all of the basic courses, are rediculously easy. If you cant pass these courses then how do you plan on living on your own?

Quite frankly I found the majority of American History boring. There are some things about American history that I like but I personally prefer older history than American history.

::adorns asbestos suit::

If you don't study history how will you ever learn about all the atrocities performed on societies in the name of "Gods".

Oh wait, you probably have a TV, and the Iraqi war is still going on :groovy:

History is alright, but i hate the boring textbook history, where all it does is throw dates and names at you. Plus its teh easiest class.

I actually enjoy history class most of the time. I just find it interesting to see what our country (and our world) has gone through to bring it to the state it's in today. Plus it generates thought of how if one small event had taken place in a different manner how much different the world would be. I'm actually considering becoming a history professor after college.
