Not alot of time left to get this trial, I just noticed it on the site. I know a few people like 321 have been wanting this, so here you are.
I quit EVE and I'm about to get my own account for WW2online, the graphics ar'nt "OMG WTF l337" but the action is what's important. For me, graphics arn't anything.
Post here if you get the trial, and tell me your name, and try to contact me in-game. Name is "xmodum"

No clue about your problem Mag, I'll ask around my squadmates and see if they know, then I'll get back to ya...
I'll be in for a couple days on my dad's account, "xmodum." One of my brother's friends liked the game and bought a CD, he never played it so he gave my dad the CD + CD key so my add could have a second account...problem is we can't find that CD key, and It's all we need to activate it again =\

And this game sucks.

It does suck if you hav'nt played it for a while. Like me, I'v been playing it since it came out. If you think it's bad now, you should have seen it then. There were only Riflemen and SMGs for Inf, now there's SMG/LMG/Grenader/Sapper/Riflemen/Commader. And now, when you shoot down a plane, if you hit their wing in the right spot, the entire wing will fly off and he'll spin into the ground in a ball of fire. It's came a long way, it would seem more appealing if you were there when it started. But I understand if you dont like it, it still has a long way to go.

I need to find some people to play with....
It's a pain on your own... although I've had some nice moments today -
Bf110 mission, attacking some airbase... off I go, up in the air, autopilot to grab a drink.
As I get close I start to dive and notice that we have TONS of troops there, and a hurricane on my arse. I switched to the gunner position, opened the hatch and sprayed wildly at him, hitting the pilot and watching him spiral to the ground.
There were a few trucks on the ground, so I went in for a bombing run, I let one off, it landed in front of the convoy, making the lead driver swerve. I circled round and pulled in behind for a strafing run, enemy troops leaping from their transport to find the nearest cover.
I must have got a few troops on that run, but as I pulled up to circle for another pass, I noticed I had the attention of two hurricane pilots, out for a vengeance. Diving into the rear gunner position, I managed to take one of them out, but was killed by the second when he took off a wing and I lost control.
Moments like that really make this game.

Just image having those moments with a group of friends all on TS in one group of aircraft. It's magical :)
Too bad you went german, the allies need help, and the gremans basicly have this war handed to them untill the Americans enter the war and we get Mustangs and shit like that, then it'll be great...the battlefield might actually be equal for once...

Problem is I couldnt find a fight or get any of the vehicles to move. All I could get to work was the rifleman. So I basicly ran around in a field for a half hour until I got close to some action and was sniped before I got close to anything interesting, got pissed and gave up.
a. How do you find a good battle?
b. How do you drive the damn tanks?

I'v been playing for so long with a joystick, I forgot how to without one. If you dont have one then you're in trouble. But you can go to the "Keymapper" when you click on "Crew/Equip", its about 3-4 buttons down, go in there and fix everything.
To find a battle, Go to friendly towns that have Red blinking troop symbols or tanks/aircraft, those will have the most action. And get one where the town Icon looks like a crossheirs, those mean that your High Command (Actual players, sorta like CR5 but you dont earn it by kills, you have to take a hard-ass test to become a High command officer) has classified that town as a primary objective. You should be able to check out what the symbols mean on the bottom of the map screen.
EDIT: Just got the icons for you-
Crossheirs with green arrows going ******d - Defend
Crossheirs with red arrows going inward - Attack
Explosion looking one - Under Attack
Radio Tower - Overrun (Enemies everywhere, you can't spawn without dying usually)
White Flag - Fallback
Shield - Hold at all costs
Note that I play for the Allies mostly as French ground forces.

Why this game sucks:
Jagedbbs: first of all
Jagedbbs: NO JUMP BUTTON
V1p3r1337: lol
Jagedbbs: everything is all orange and flashy and bugging out
Jagedbbs: it is easier to walk through vehicles then enter them
Jagedbbs: same thing with ladders
Jagedbbs: i couldnt figure out how to climb one
Jagedbbs: so i just walked through the wall it was on
Jagedbbs: and the battles are hard to find
Jagedbbs: so you end up getting sniped half the time while running through a boring field looking for something to shoot
Jagedbbs: and for the life of me I cant get any vehicles to move
Jagedbbs: i could however get a plane to literaly spin in circles at 50mph like a top while sitting on the runway
Jagedbbs: i couldnt even get the engine to start on the tank
V1p3r1337: lol awesome
Jagedbbs: i cant even find the options menu
Jagedbbs: there isnt one as far as i can tell
Jagedbbs: no documentation of the controlls i saw
V1p3r1337: ha
Jagedbbs: and the graphics are ugly as satans ball sack
V1p3r1337: o.O

This game isn't a "jump in and know everything" type of game....
My dad has been playing since launch, and he still can't even use most of the equipment in the game (To gain access to more equipment, you gain rank, to gain rank you have to complete missions by getting at least one kill in your mission and you have to have been out there for 10 minutes before despawning)
you have to have an incredibly ammount of patience with this game, unlike any other, sometimes you ahve to wait 2 hours in a base for the fight to come.

...
How hard can it be to make a set of controlls for the vehicles that dosen't require a phd to figure out?
xmodum
2005-03-05, 12:02 AM
Last time I checked the keymapper, it was'nt that hard to understand.
And another thing, about the jump button, they don't have that so Enemy Infantry cannot jump into friendly spawns and spawn camp us like little bitches. Each spawn has a little section in the stairs at the bottom taken off, so you can go down, but not up.

If I can mess with the controlls for a tank for 5 min and not even get the engine to start, then its much more difficult then it needs to be.
I understand not being able to fly a plane. Flight sims usualy require looking at the key bindings to understand how to take off. The only problem is that there dosent seem to be any key bindings or ways of changing the controlls. THe options menu wich is cleverly hidden outside of the game to make it a pain in the ass to find dosent include a key binding section.

Well, bearing in mind that it's also the same key to start the engine (or engines - as is the case with one of the British tanks) as it is to start an aircrafts engine(s), I don't see what the problem is, other than ignorance or stupidity.

I'm trying to host some good pics for you guys, some real good eye candy for yaz, gimmie a couple min. I have pictures of my dad on a british Freighter, with 4 tanks aboard and about 30 friend;y infantry running around, my dad took ground photos of them and shit, he got alot. And I have some pics of what I do just about everyday with my squad, tank assaults and shit.

Why couldnt they just put an options menu in game with the keymappings in that like every other game does?

I've actually been wanting to try this game out for awhile now.
Which team needs help the most? Germans or Allies? I was thinking of joining the Germans.
xmodum
2005-03-05, 01:20 AM
Allies need the most help. You see, untill the Americans get in the war with their equipment (maybe half a year till), the germans are gonna win because they have more advanced equipment, and of course, everyone goes for the winning team, so we have limited numbers on our side. CRS should have thought about balance. If your side is down to 4 towns, the entire map resets, and it has done this 18 times so far. Allies have only won about 5-6 of these out of luck.
And this game isnt like other games, so that's why the options arn't in the game.
EDIT: To contact me in-game, type .m xmodum <message> in your chat box...

So be it then...... FOR THE COMMON WEALTH!!!!!!
I kinda figured it would be like WoW where everyone bandwagons onto the good side.
EDIT: I choose to play on the allied side on the official site and when I click "Play Now" nothing happens, and it won't let me play until I choose a side.

My curiosity is piqued, but I have to wonder, how far has the game come since release?
When I played, a few months after launch, the game was a mess. Graphics were terrible, communications was clunky, at best. Numerous physics / geometry problems, like planes flying through the ground to evade AA..

From my experience playing I can tell you all of those are still true. Except for the plane thing. I wasn't able to get a plane far enough off the ground to test that.

Well, IMO, graphics have come a long way, though, yes compared to other games the graphics are still shit. Geometry and that stuff is fixed, the environment looks better, and instead of the entire ground being flat, with a moutain or two, there are hill, berms, bushs, and other things you can use to get an advantage over the enemy.
Clipping, which is the plane in the ground....is completely impossible now.Trust me, my dad was one of the most famed clippers in the game, clip into a wall as Inf, wait in bunker, kill anything that came near the bunker without them seeing you (You were inside thick walls and shit). They put in numerous programs and stuff to detect and prevent clipping.
And, blowing shit up is more fun. I was 10 feet from a panzer the other day as Inf, about to nade him, and a friendly bomber put a well-placed bomb on him. Parts went flying everywhere, the main turret fell right infront of me.
I'v blown off wings, engines, and many other parts of planes with cannon fire. Hell, I'll be fighting on the ground and random parts of planes will fall near me from the pilots above me fighting.
The chat is pretty much the same, you can type things like .emote salute/laugh/surrender, but that's all I can think of. You can't see yourself do these though, only other players.
Other then CRS adding Destroyer ships into the game (Very fun to use during naval battle, never used one myself, though) that's all I can think of.

Infernus, what the flaming hell is your problem? I know it isn't in the "big leagues", I said hundreds of people play it, maybe not thousands, but it isn't abbondoned or filled with 10 year old kiddies. This is why I like this game, its players, for the most part, are mature. Not like PS where everyone calls you a n00b after you kill them.
Now scurry along and play CS:S or something.
