Well...I saw on the sony site it said March 25, 2005 (same thing), and the first playable movies for it will be coming out April 19th, including Spiderman 2, Incredible Hulk...and some other shit....they are starting off with 100 game titles and will expand from there....you can play games, watch movies, look at pictures, and play music on it. It will be using a UMD (universal Mini Disc)..i think thats what UMD means....

The Sony PSP, and the fact that sony is opening up an mp3 player market to compete against the Ipod, is the reason i'm looking into some stock. I feel these things are gonna make the stock go up...

Besides Car Stereo Systems....Sony has high quality electronics...

I disagree.

Most sony products as of late have been poor quality and unreliable.

As for their xplod range... it's really not that good, there are much better offers for much better prices.

PSP as an mp3 player? You'd have to pay alot of money for a decent sized memory stick... and then where would your save games go?

I disagree too. I have found all of sony's products extremley reliable, from game consoles to digital cameras to TVs, or maybe its just my fanboyism towards sony that is speaking...

As of late some products have been, Mostly thier TVs which are noticably behind in technology and overpriced.

I don't know about that, I personally haven't bought anything else, as a matter of fact, I just bought a 2004 model S2000, and its fantastic, especially for the $75 price.

Memory Sticks aren't that expensive, but its primarily a game console, thats just one of those things that may come in handy, ala your mp3s in your games.

I'm guessing it'll only take Sony memory sticks, right? Because aren't Sony memory sticks all weird and jacked up?

From what I hear, it only takes a mini-ized version of some standard memory stick, which of course, Sony makes. However there are other manufacturers (again, so I hear) so it won't cost TOO much. Heres the article where I picked some of this up:
