Xbox Gets a Life (Xbox)
The first details for the Xbox version of Half-Life 2.
By Eduardo Vasconcellos (http://feedback.gamespy.com/) | April 8, 2005
The latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine has confirmed an Xbox version of Half-Life 2 (http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/half-life-2/), with some brief details.
Improved lighting effects, it looks better than on PC
Loading times doesn't differ from PC-Version, due to a new Streaming technology
The controls are adapted to the joypad, auto-aiming has been included
They are working on the airboat/buggy controls, because it is too difficult to steer and shoot on the same time
The Source-Engine has been adapted to Xbox, so Xbox developers can license it now
The textures are less detailed than on PC because of the ram (64 MB)
There will be NO multiplayer in the game, not even via Xbox Live
It's not announced if it will be possible to download new stuff, but there was no clear NO
Release date: Summer 2005 (USA)
Sounds interesting, I wonder how they will be able to pull it off on the xbox. I dont doubt their abilities, but I seriously doubt that it will be out this summer.
