More info here (http://transgaming.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2543), here (http://psforums.station.sony.com/ps/board/message?board.id=psdiscussion&message.id=530643),
and here (http://www.winehq.org/hypermail/wine-devel/2005/04/0194.html).

Wine CVS (2005/04/09) #1 (http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~cutler/planetside1.jpg)
Wine CVS #2 (http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~cutler/planetside2.jpg)
Cedega 4.3 (http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~cutler/planetside3.jpg)

Cedega has a nasty crashing problem (I've yet to have it run for more than 10 minutes before crashing), and Wine CVS has problems with textures going white (eventually so many textures go white your entire screen is a mass of... white, and it's impossible to play). But it's progress!

Fix the damn bugs first!

Which bugs are you referring to? Planetside doesn't have a Linux client, this is trying to get the Windows client running on Linux.

If you'd actually, you know, READ THE LINKS, you would have realized that. Ok? You lose. :p

HOLY SHIT! I would use this, if i had linuix, and if you could answer these questions 3
-Can you play the game online, besides from training?
-Will you fix the texture errors?
-Whats the performance like? is it decent? stability?

this would be great, i could save my self a hundred bucks on my next computer, if this works

How do you expect him to fix the texture errors? Planetside was clearly not intended to run on linux, and he's using a sort of windows emulator on linux(I'm not sure what the proper term for wine, and such, would be) just to run PS.

Programs like wine have trouble even running basic applications for windows on linux from my experience, and so I'd assume the performance is rather bad.

Why would you run Linux on your main computer, so many things you can't do. I have an extra computer (old one) that runs Linux. Just uses Irssi and NAIM though.
