On the comments, someone says the music is "Age for the trailer theme from "The Patriot".

So... what is it?

He was a Nazi at gun point, and deserted at risk of being shot the first chance he got.

This is just stupid...

Ignorance flourishes when weakminded people listen...

We can see whose listening now can't we?

He was as much a nazi a vicchio is a liberal. He wasn't part of the nazi party. Hitler youth was like boy scouts.

In 1938 membership in Hitler Youth was legally required, he joined in 41. In 1942 he was commissioned into FlaK, the anti-air corp, and in 1944 was assigned to defend the Hungarian border against Russia. In December 1944 he was drafted, yet again, into the Whermact but deserted in early 1945, he was held for 2 months as a prisoner of war (even though he had abandoned the uniform he was still a german soldier) and was release in June 1945.

He did not join the military before it was mandatory.
