This just in from the front lines�Battlefield 2 has officially gone GOLD! The game will begin shipping under the EA GAMES brand starting Tuesday, June 21, 2005.

In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, China, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game�s 30+ vehicles. Players can also hone their skills against improved enemy intelligence in the new single-player campaign before competing online with up to 64 players in some of the most intense battles on the PC.

Enhanced team play features allow players to enter the action on the front lines as part of a formal squad, or work behind the scenes in Commander Mode to direct the strategic assaults of their teammates. With the new online character ranking and persistence, players increase their rank and unlock awards, including new weapons, medals, and more.

Developed by Sweden-based developer, Digital Illusions, the creators of the original Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 is rated �T� (Teen) by the ESRB and has an MSRP of $49.99

The demo is supposed to be out shortly, I heard a rumor that says June 10th and Frag also says June 10th.

Oh, about the Demo. Some Admin on the EA forum just posted some new information about the demo.

Although final dates for the Battlefield 2 demo have not been locked down we understand we will be allowed to make it available in little over a week.

Once again these features are not 100% final but the demo will contain:

One map
16-player single player
16 and 32-player multiplayer
Time limit per round

Phaden, buddy, I hate to tell you this but not every FPS copies stuff from PS, sometimes they've never heard of it or even played it and they have similiar stuff... Think about it, there are how many people in this world? 6-7 billion?

Hey im happy regardless where it came from, just pointing out striking similarities between the two, and also where some of this audience came from.

But also news, my work is having a pre-release thingy for it on June 24, 25 i think. Couple hours of free play, should be intresting, and if it is pre realease, then ill post some stuff up hopefully.

US release is the 21st, that is the ship date. So it will probably be in stores the 22nd at earliest. Demo is highly rumored to be coming out the 10th, friday. And if anyone is playing offline then ya need to unplug your computer asap, Battlefield 1942 was built as an online game, they only added the single player skirmish towards the end of development. If ya complain about the game without playing on multiple servers then u still should unplug your computer asap. Try clan servers and non clan servers, i highly recommend playing on some of the big clan servers such as RAV, only one i can think of right now.
