DVD rip

Could anyone help me with finding a decent DVD ripping program? Now one thing first, though: my intention is NOT to copy it to a CD in DivX. I need it Windows Media Player-readable. Something that automates it as much as possible would be nice, or another link to some instructions for the thing.
