Whats up guys just a question on the "Karma Engine" . I read a long time ago about how the creators of unreal saw the "Karma engine" in actionat E3 and wanted to use it in the unreal engine or some such stuff. well I just read a new article in PC gamer saying that Americas Army is going to be implementing the "karma physics model"into the game. What exactly is the Karma engine? Is it only used on Vehicles? so does the Karma engine and unreal engine become one now?did the army have to pay sony to license this technology? just very interested about the game sorry for the Noob questions.

Ahh the karma engine. THe karma engine is a ballistics type engine. When you shoot someone, there is a ragdoll effect. Like in the game hitman2, they slide down stairs, and when they get hit, they fly backwards. I am a big fan of the karma engine, instead of animation, they kinda set a value on the "severity" of the bullet, the higher the value the harder you get hit and fly backwards,

So say you shoot someone with a pistol. They might fall back a tiny bit, unload on someone with a gatling gun, they will go flying. its really cool

It is cool because you can have more 'realistic' effects, but they are often overdone too. The reason why Planetside doesn't use it is because all the different ways you could die would cause more lag, with a set number of animations its simpler.

In hitman 2 you can use your ballers to move bodies quickly so that you aren't detected. :D
