Flying School, With Led (AKA TankGirl)

Today i was playing some desert combat with Led (AkA TankGirl) and damn can she fly. I was her gunner alot of the time (ok alll the time) becuase she pwned everyone, she'd hover real low to the bunker and i'd MG the weiners huddle up in there, it was fun!

do it hamma, then hop on PSU/AGN/CDL tmspk, ho, lunar, fish, sputty, and alot of people are usually on and play DC alot. We can organize a game and i can pwn you :D

It's quite fun but it takes the difficulty out of bombing with the A10(strafing with guns will kill any soldier..or tanks...or anything really quickly) but the Apache, which is probably the best AT weapon if used properly, can dish out some rocket based death while the gunner still has ammo. IMO the apache is the best aircraft, althouygh more difficult to fly than the planes. Hamma, get the mod installed and we can play some DC with alot of people

Led, I hvae trouble truly hovering. What throttle % would you say you are at when you hover? I can almost hover but just not quite. Well, I guess I can test it out in single player. I mlearned to fly the apache there. Also, can't wait for the hind and black hawk to be released. It'll be fun to transport people in those...

I spent hours one day playing with the apache, i can get it to a near dead still hover with practicing :D

It is a MMO and semi persistant. It has a free two week trial. MOst fighting is set in world war two planes (and there is a great selection of them). As a noob, you have accest to almost all of the planes available. It has a nice flight engine and is tons of dogfighting fun. I am new to it, but if anyone has any questions about it feel free to PM me.

P.S. It is only a 37 meg download.

I hit a chopper yesterday with 5 missiles from a F15. Barely started smoking. Theres some weapon balancing to be done yet.

Heh, the Apache is supposed to have alot of armor but at the same time the missiles need to somehow guide against other air. Too ahrd to fight air-to-air IMO to be effective. I can easily outmanuever people in MIGs with an A10.

I just repeatedly tap the W key :D I use teh moose and keybard :silly: I also fly in nosecam view.

And yes, Derfud, if there is a chopper available, I will fly it the entire map, hehe. It is the only thing presenting a challenge in BF anymore. Tanking is too easy, fighting on foot is dreary, and the fixed wing aircraft are way too cheesy. Plus hard to fly with a moose :D

BTW, I tyhink they have to fi FF or something. The apache is the prefect FF tool. But, if FF is off that's good, especially in DC. How many helfires and rockets do you normally shoot to take out an enemy tank? Also, nothing's funner than having flight of the valkyries playing in the background when you go into the apache and rain death on the enemy..MWAHAHAHA

Conserve, of course! That thing just chews right through ammo like nothing else x_x The more you spam, the sooner you run out of ammo, and the sooner you get rammed by a Mig while trying to reload :P~ Only time I ever spam is if a Shilka gets on my butt. Those things need to be taken out fast, style points mean squat if you are dead ;)

anyways, It will take me a while before I will play desert combat w/ everyone, partially because I cant get the first BF1942 to work on my computer. If you think you can help me, please read below:
2 things happen on the load screen, either 1. It loads up normally and then at the last second of the loading it closes out the program and goes to the desktop and I hear the error noise but no error boxes pops up.
2. With different, changed settings on my computer, the loading screen is all black and I dont know if it is loading or froze.

I love playing with their heads even more :twisted: Since the BF1.3 patch, they fixed getting shot out of the cockpit (problem was lag prediction telling the server the pilot was OUTSIDE the aircraft). So I just hover over, like an angel of death, while they plink away at me. Then I just turn and fly off, saying 'Nah, you aint worth the rockets'.

THAT pisses them off. Oh I love it :angel: cackle

I'll be your gunner or if aircraft permit your wingman...BTW..I love to follow a couple lone snipers around or groups of infantry and just watch them...They'll often try to shoot me and I'll just lower my altitude and doing runs over them without firing...Fun...They go insane!!!

That graphics card could be a problem. What are its specs? How about your processor and motherboard? Do you have the latest version of directX, and all your other drivers?

Sad to say, your computer might just be too old to run it correctly :(

I would like to have a regular server, but they keep going down or ending up empty :( Basically, I find the biggest, lowest pinging server possible. As soon as some regular 64 or 48 player servers start up, you can find me there ^_^

I personally think that the apache is just a way to get easy kills, the real action is driving a humvee :D I really enjoy shooting down helis from my fighter, but i take no such pleasure in flying the heli while taking cheap kills. I take pleasure in strafing the enemy airfield when the plane whores are waiting for planes, then i launch a missile and watch the kills pile up. I'm sure the Hind will be great in the next version, and the helis won't b as cheap.

The A10 isn't? That thing can kills troops, infantry..anything in seconds with it's guns and it's missiles too. It also moves faster and is more maneuverable than the Apache.

Sure, you can get plenty of kills if you are a spawncamping rocket spamming bastid :rolleyes:

Yes the A-10 does need to be toned down, but on the other hand you cannot kill 6 people with one SMAW or RPG rocket, whereas you can with 1 of your 8hydras on the apache.

You mean Hellfire I think but that doesn't matter...Anyway...The apache can get owned rather easily by the Shilka or even a smart guy in a tank..Or a MIG....or an RPG...A big list can easily take out an apache while the A10 can maneuver easily or soldiers can hide...Tanks on the other hand..heh...tehy need good air support...BTW..It's a major weapon...it's supposed to be really strong...also..Only a group of idiots would travel packed like that...Spread out if you ahve an idea th apache is near..it's super loud

I just got auto-banned from the server Sputty and I were playing on! DOH#! :(

Seems that 3 TKs = kick, 2 kicks = ban.

Two of the first three were on purpose, my own teammates trying to shoot down my chopper while trying to pick Sputty up. So I fed them some rockets. Sputty caught one too (SUCK IT... err... sorry! ^_^;). First kick. Next two TKs were on accident. There was a T72 approaching a flag, and four guys with M16s defending it, no chance against armor. So I had to choose... lose the flag, or kill the tank and risk some TKs. So I shot it, two TKs (cringe). Final one, was hunting down a sniper, saw a guy off in the distance in the trees. Looked at my radar TWICE to make sure there was not a blue mark there, and fired a missile. TK. ARGH.
