So I used to play PS on my old computer which had the minimun system specs to run it. It ran, just barely, but it ran. Got a new system and wanted to get back into PS and I have been unable to play thus far. The game installs fine, updates, I click on play, the screen goes black, the music plays, and....nothing happens. The music continues to play but I have to alt-tab out and quit. I've contacted Sony but they've been useless so far, they always ask for the system specs and it always comes down to "you must have a corrupt file, reinstall and it should work." Same thing happens. Soooo, if someone has an idea I would be eternally grateful if we could get this game running again. System specs follow:

BIOS: Pheonix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD AthlonXP 2800+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.1GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
DirectX Version: 9.0c
RADEON 9600 SERIES AGP
Internal DAC (400MHz)
WINXP
120GB Hard Drive

Any other information needed I would gladly provide. HELP!

I used to have a problem like that. When I would try to connect, it would lock up. Turns out when you have a firewall blocking PS, it locks up. Check and see if that's the problem.

Have you posted on the official Planetside Tech forums with your DxDiag.txt file? I know the TSR pretty well (him and I used to squad up in PS :D ), if you want I can send him a message lettin him know you need some help. One thing though, hes not in on the weekends, but theres still lots of very knowlegeable forum nerds who will be happy to help. :)
