For all of y'all that where in WoW, Guild Wars, or what ever.
Why did you start up Planetside again?
I came back for the cloaking, got some cloaking merits as well. But it only took a few weeks before I starting itching for the MCG.

It was a game where we could always play together regardless of rank or equipment. That and it is a blast to play and always has been ;) with the BFR's "changed" since they came out they arent dominating the battlefield anymore so its a bit more like it once was.

I wanted to see if the game was any better than when I quit, and I would say that it is, but that it is still very, very far below other games out there. The MMO aspect of it is what sets it apart, so I'm gonna **** around for a while.

As Hamma pointed out in Ps it dosent matter what rank you can still fight along side the higher ranked people ...WoW was fun dont get me wrong but people who were lower level usally got left out of things and thats what sucked.. I know when I play a game I want the play with my outfit/guild ...noting like playing along side my fellow Dragon Wolves

After I quiet PS I played WoW, until I realized how repetitive and redundant it was. There was nothing about skill in that game, it was all about who had the better equipment. And getting better equipment was based on luck (whether it dropped or not) which is frustrating. Your success in PlanetSide is judged by your skill, not your luck.

I came back to play with my friends. It is fun to work as a group with my buddies. This game allows you to do that very well.

After I left for the Air Force in April 2003 the game wasn't out yet. By the time I got out of tech school is december 2003 BOHICA was not longer playing ans so I never really played. So I'm playing now to give it the shot I never gave it

I restored my computer back in November of 2004 so I lost everything and I had no chance of d/ling all of the patches with my 56k. I got a faster internet literally a year later. Started again last November.
Only thing that holds me back now is my computer. It is shit. I wish i got money this xmas instead of fucking socks, I can go for a lot of upgrades.

Socks are the ultimate cop-out gift
Zomg, my account is still here!
I dunno if I want to come back though :) I stopped playing before BFRs came out and all that stuff... I am enjoying my fond memories of the game, I do not want to ruin them with the brutal realities of what it may be now ;D
That, and I probably am nowhere near as good as I once was

I'm considering retrying with the trial. The problem is that I will know within a few minutes of playing why I left.

If anyone left because of BFRs, take it from a long-time BFR whore, they're cooked. Flight variants (which were the only ones that were worth anything until recently) now take significant shield damage when they jump. As jumping is kind of a big part of being a flight variant, needless to say, flight variants are done with as a serious threat or widely used vehicle.
The regular BFRs are still in, but who cares? They're sitting ducks anyway and can't function without the support of an army, just like a tank (well, just like a vanguard/prowler.)
