what are the chances I will get into the beta? Will it be as hard as SwG to get into? I hope to be able to play PS within 2 weeks. And how long do you guys think it will be before the open beta? I think 2 weeks.

The chances are between 0 and 100%. BTW, open betas shouldn't be really hard to get into. External, yes, but open betas are jsut that...open...

They said they will have over 10,000 in open beta, the PS community is larger than that, but if you are quick you shouldn't have a problem getting in.

I would say you have a 80% chance to get accepted into beta, unless you have an 8k modem connection and 3 grams of hard drive. :(

In a recent post by SmokeJumper on the official forums he bumped that estimate up to "around 20,000". So yes, you have a very good chance of getting accepted.

20 000? great. Shouldn't be too hard to get into the open beta then.

With 20,000 people they wont likely put the 18 or older age limit on. Would they?

Do you have to play alot to get in betas? Because I have school, so I can't be on the game 24/7. Will I still be able participate in the beta?

they'd go way outa their way to enforce a NDA on 20,000. while they could do it, i doubt they would. so i imagine that europeans and people<18 would have a shot at getting in.

You should be able to participate in open beta even if you have school or work {I think} *crosses fingers*. But with 20000+ they should not have a problem with people being on at all times.

I don't think they usually worry too much about enforcing NDA's when they go to a fully open beta. By that time they really are ready to "go gold" it's just that they want to stress test the servers before hand to check for problems. I'm pretty sure I saw a post by Dave a while ago that said that the stress test phase wouldn't last long and would be just before release.

It's just to get <18 kids to have their parents read the NDA. It's not illegal for 45 year old parent to get demo and have the kid play it. Also, if the game will be Teen, what's with the 18 age limit???

If the title of your thread was your question "What are the chances of open beta" The answer would be 100% ;) :p

Open beta will probably be 4-6 weeks away. Open beta also will probably be fairly short, 2-3 weeks.
If you have 10,000-20,000 testers, that is probably going to be about a 25-50% chance of getting in, maybe a bit higher (the hidden community and amount of people that will flock to a free game beta or not will be fairly high).
On open beta it is pretty much completely random who they select, I doubt they will have any requirements.

The NDA will almost certainly be gone for the big beta for one reason-word of mouth marketing is free and spreads faster than anything else. So get ready to open your big fat yaps.

PS community is only 20000 people right now. And id guess less. Dont worry to much about open beta. If you have broadband and a decent computer, i doubt theyll leave you out. Me, im on cable with two times the minimum requirments. plus, i check the forums every night so i should be one of the first few to sign up.

13,000 people signed up for the one 3 months ago, and how big do you really think the community was then? I doubt it was 13,000 big, it was probably more like 5,000, if that.

So they can put in a Non Disclosure Agreement which means u cant run around telling people whats in the game which stops you from going to other companies who will steal ideas....
NDA wont be on an open beta because its open meaning any 1 can play as long as there is places for them....
